Chapter 1219

I nodded and asked, "Where are you?"

"I'm at the casino!" He said, "I'll come pick you up and take you around!"

I was lost for a few seconds before I fully woke up and realized that he was said something about acasino."Why did you suddenly go to the casino?"

"I was just taking a look. Go get dressed. I'll be there soon!"

After hanging up the phone, I sat on the bed while the rest of my limbs woke up then got up to washand get dressed. Hendrix walked in as I was putting on my clothes. I took a second to admire theway he was dressed in a casual black suit. Although it was black, it differed from his usual classicstyle. He looked more energetic and cool, almost like a young man. Actually, he didn't look old in thefirst place, but he looked a little more chic and domineering when he was dressed more casually.

I shamelessly stared at him in surprise. I said without hesitation, "If I saw your photo on the fashionmagazine cover tomorrow, I wouldn't be surprised at all."

He looked even more charming with his lips curled into a smile as he said, "You praise is all I need."

Of course, I couldn't be dressed too casually after I saw what he was wearing. I found a blacksundress from the closet and paired them with matching high heels. He was a little displeased whenhe saw my exposed shoulders and back, and covered me with a coat.

I didn't reject it. I looked good.

My whole body was tense as I walked into a casino. In my mind, I imagined that a casino was asmoky and chaotic place. Like something from the 80s. I've always felt that it was a place for peoplewho had completely lost their humanity and were fighting with each other for money and desire.

Sensing my anxiety, Hendrix hugged me and said comfortingly, "Don't need to be so nervous. Thepeople here come and go, so there won't be many people who will pay attention to you. Justimagine that we're going to a bar."novelbin

I nodded, but couldn't do much about my nervousness. It took a second to realize what I saw. Thecasino was completely different from what I had imagined. It was decorated with elegant and high-end furnishings. While there was still a smell of cigarette smoke in the air, but it did not affect theexpensive air the casino exuded.

The vast space was filled with countless gambling tables. Long tables were covered with chips that Icouldn't name. At many tables, there would be a beautiful woman distributing cards. I knew nothingabout gambling, so I could only guess at what game each table held. We didn't approach any of thetables there. Rather, Hendrix and I went up to the second floor.

The second floor was where the private rooms were located. Even the server was dressed in atasteful black and white uniform. He politely led us through the second floor and into a private room.In the large private room, there was a poker table surrounded by plush leather sofas. There weretwo people gambling at the table when we entered the room.

Upon seeing Hendrix walk into the room, the young man sitting on the sofa got up and walkedtowards us with a smile on his face. "Mr. Roberts, you're finally here."

After a simple but reserved greeting, I found out that the young man's name was Tobias Hayes. Hewas the grandson of Gerald Hayes and the owner of this casino. I recalled hearing some vaguerumors about him due to his unconventional style of doing things.

Tobias leaned back on the sofa and chatted with Hendrix before he shifted his gaze toward me.

"Arianna, you really are a symbol of beauty. Do you always bring her along wherever you go, Mr.Roberts?"

Hendrix echoed the smile and replied with a gentle expression on his face, "I am more at easewhen she is by my side as I get older!"
