Chapter 1213

"Of course I brought it with me, but I have some questions that I want to ask you," I have beenthinking about it for a long time, but I couldn't figure out what was nagging at me.

He nodded, "Feel free to ask!"

"The box that you auctioned off In Ucrebury was your grandfather's?"

He nodded.

I paused for a moment and said, "Did he always have it, or did someone else give it to him? DoesMaster Milton know a woman named Carol Reid?"

His face, which was originally smiling, suddenly became sullen. There was an indescribablecoldness on his face. I couldn't help but rub my face and arms when I felt that the surroundingtemperature drop.

I looked at him and asked carefully, "What's wrong?"

After a while, he calmed down, looked at me to ask, "Your grandmother's name is Carol Reid?"

I nodded. Remembering that he had been standing in front of grandma's grave back in Ucrebury, Icouldn't help continuing, "Sebastian,

I've always felt as if you are deliberately trying to get close to me."

Originally, I thought he would deny it. I didn't expect him to look right at me and nod. Then, he saidfurther, "Well, our first encounter wasn't in the cemetery, but in Jarold City. I noticed you then butyou didn't."

I was surprised but didn't want to go down that road. So, I shifted the topic back to my grandmother."So, you know my grandmother. Master Milton does too, right?"

He nodded and smiled slightly. "Not only do I know her, but I'm also very familiar with her."

I frowned slightly and waited for him to explain more, but he didn't seem inclined to continue. He justsaid, "Give me that box."

I gave him the sandalwood box. I wanted to ask him something about my grandmother, but he didn'tseem to want to talk about it, so I let it go.

I just had doubts in my heart. It seemed that I didn't know him as well as I had thought. At times, Ifelt that we'd been close. He was a rich man's son, but he didn't always behave like one at all. Hehad helped us as if he were part of us.

However, there were times, like right then that I felt that he seemed far away. There were too manythings about him that I didn't understand.

He looked down at the box in his hands and examined it carefully. Then, he raised his eyebrows, looked at me and said, "I don't know much about your grandmother. I'm just curious about the box.Hendrix doesn't know that you're giving the box to me, does he?"

I shook my head and replied, "He knows about this!"novelbin

He frowned slightly and asked incredulously, "He didn't say anything about it?"

I shook my head in confusion. "What's the matter? Is there something wrong with that?"

He shrugged his shoulders and didn't say anything else.
