Chapter 1211

I shook my head, looking back at him helplessly, and replied, "I don't know what to do. That's whyI'm asking you. What do you think I should do?"

He thought for a moment and said seriously, "I don't mind if you help them, but we know thatleukemia is a bottomless pit. It's hard to say whether she can be cured or not."

I nodded. I knew in my heart that money was not easily earned. What's more, the Roberts Groupwas now facing so many rumors, and the losses were innumerable. Sonia's death, whether it wasby suicide or accident, had caused a great blow to the company. According to legal procedures, theRoberts Group should be compensating them, but paying for their family's medical bills is beyondexpectation.

I sighed again then reluctantly got up. "Okay, let's stop talking about this. What do you want to eat?I'll cook tonight."

He smiled and said, "Anything!"

After a pause, he asked, "Will you go to Oakland with me, in mid-October?"

Oakland?

I was paused for a moment and asked, "Is there

something that we need to do there?"

He nodded and replied, "One of grandpa's old comrades is going to be buried. Grandpa can't go, sowe will go in his stead."

"Alright, tell me when the time comes!" I couldn't help but look at him and ask, "Hendrix, can I askyou a question?"

He raised his eyebrows. "What is it?"

"At first, I thought that you were angry with your grandfather because he broke you and Andrea up.But later I learned that wasn't the case. Can you tell me why you were so angry with yourgrandfather?" I roughly remembered what happened back then. He didn't show up on the dayMaster Roberts was buried.

Brow furrowed, he looked at me then said after a moment of silence, "It's been too long. I haveforgotten why I was so angry with him."

I was a little befuddled and didn't know how else to push for an answer when he was so unwilling. Inthe end, I kept quiet.

The next day.

Hendrix and I went to Roberts Group together. The number of reporters waiting at the RobertsGroup's building had reduced by half. I guess most of them had lost their patience after waiting forso many days without obtaining any information.

Sonia's parents were not there either. They must be taking care of Rita in the hospital.

The Roberts Group entrance had gradually returned to normal.

As soon as I walked into the building, Estella immediately came forward and greeted me happily."Mrs. Roberts, you're here. It's great that Sonia's parents didn't come today. You're so amazing."

Because she was too excited and happy, she unwittingly ignored Hendrix completely. He stood nextto me while Estella had excitedly taken my hands and almost spun me around.

It took her quite a while to realize that Hendrix was standing right next to me. She quickly let go ofmy hand and said respectfully, "I'm sorry, Mr. Roberts. I'm sorry!"

Hendrix shot an indifferent glance at her before stretching out his hand to hold mine. Without sayinganything, he led me into the elevator.novelbin

In the elevator, Hendrix looked at me and teased, "You are well loved by both men and women?"

I paused for a moment before realizing what he meant. I blushed and said, "What are you talkingabout? I just talked to her when I dealt with Sonia's parents yesterday. What are you thinking?"

He smiled, pulled me into his arms, and said, "My wife's interpersonal skills are not bad."

I rolled my eyes at him and said, "What are you thinking about!"

I suddenly thought of Anne after making dinner, and gave Valerie a call. The phone rang for a whilebefore it was connected. Coming from the other end of the line was Pedro's voice. "Hello, this is theMoore Family household!"

There was no caller display function on the Moore's phone. Therefore, Pedro didn't know who hadcalled. I couldn't help but pause for a moment before saying, "Dad, it's me, Arianna!"
