Chapter 1199

Then I looked up and saw Hendrix, who'd walked out of the Roberts Group building with cold, angryeyes. Following behind him was a group of senior executives of the company.

Hendrix could clearly see me lying on the ground due to the reporters' sudden dispersal. I couldonly imagine how embarrassing I looked in everybody's eyes.

Hendrix's silent anger caused a chill in the temperature. He approached me with a tightly leashedfury. He shot a cold glance at the reporters who were standing around us, which instantly madethem gasp.

He pulled me up and held me in his arms. His voice was as gentle as ever, at odds with hiscontrolled fury. "Are you okay?"

I nodded my head and replied, "I'm fine!"

He searched my eyes and then scanned our surroundings with a pair of dark eyes. His dark eyeswere slightly restrained, but the bloodthirsty coldness was still enveloping the surrounding air.

"It's an honor that you all have taken so much effort to gather at my company, but you will need togive me an explanation for hurting my wife without reason. Everyone, please go home. You can onlyinterview me after your companies receive my invitation letter." Hendrix did not raise his voice, some would say it could be considered quite gentle. But there was malice in his voice. Although Ididn't understand the meaning of his words, I roughly understood what he meant when I saw theexpressions on those reporters' faces.

After saying that, Hendrix led me straight back to the office and asked Evan to bring the first aid boxto him. He gently guided me to the sofa and he silently treated my wounds.

My knees and elbows were bruised, and my whole body was covered in dust. I was in a sorry state.

It was all external injuries. Hendrix was helping me to treat my wounds with his head down, and helooked a little angry. I couldn't help but hiss slightly and trembled when he used a cotton swab todisinfect my wounds.novelbin

He looked up at me and said in a deep voice, "Does it hurt?"

I shook my head and smiled lightly. "It's not very painful!" I was telling him the truth. They were allexternal injuries, and it wasn't that painful.

He pursed his lips and treated my wound with a gloomy face. I knew he was angry because I hadn'tstayed at home.

He still didn't speak after he finished treating my wounds. Evan brought a change of clothes into hisoffice. Then, he looked at Hendrix, feeling a little hesitant to speak.

Hendrix looked at me and asked, "Can you change yourself?"

I nodded. Of course. I wasn't that badly hurt.

He hummed his assent and didn't say anything more.

I turned around and walked into the lounge. Evan's voice came from outside, audible because hewas not too far away.

Evan said, "Mr. Roberts, I've found it out. The products released by CBU last month were allsamples from the Roberts Group. After they were stolen, they repurposed them directly. No newmachine was produced."

I paused upon hearing this. I remembered that the samples were stolen not long after the LancilleVillage project was launched. A lot of the Roberts Group's things had been stolen at that time, but

the incident ended up with nothing definite uncovered, so Hendrix and Sebastian didn't pursuefurther investigations.

Instead, the Roberts Group had assembled a new machine. I originally thought this matter over, butnow it seemed that someone had already set up a huge trap and was waiting for Hendrix to jumpinto it!
