Chapter 1187

Freya's words were like a slap to my face. In our ten years of marriage, I had felt that my love forHendrix was real, but it seemed that I had never tried to understand him in the first place. Fromwhen my child was in trouble, to when my biological parents had a conflict with me because of him,all these things that I had done seemed to have only one purpose, tormenting him!

It seemed that I had been claiming and taking revenge on him with the slogan of love all the time...novelbin

Seeing that I did not have a reply, Freya sighed slightly, "Arianna, falling in love is a very easyprocess, hormones help with that. However, it's very difficult to get along. Hendrix grew up underthe guidance of a soldier. His biggest good points ate his sense of responsibility and loyalty as asoldier. Andrea was about his promise to his brother, so that's why he's responsible for her. Youknow his loyalty better than me, so don't hurt each other because of a momentary impulse, okay?"

I nodded and realized that I was too impulsive and wayward. It seemed that I had never consideredHendrix's position, nor had I really understood him.

"What's wrong with Roberts Group?" I had been staying at Asherton, so I had lost touch with whatwent on in Jarold City and what Hendrix had been facing lately.

She let out a breath. "It's an old case. A few years ago, several children's bodies appeared in theconstruction sites of Roberts Group, right? This matter was handled properly then. I don'tunderstand why it's causing an issue again now. Currently, the public opinion is against Hendrix, saying that he used Charles's power to expand illegally in Jarold City. At present, all real estateprojects that the group was going to establish have been halted. This matter has become a big dealnow."

I frowned. "Who would bring up something that happened so many years ago? Did the developmentproject not have a permit? Why would Mr. Reid be involved in all of this?"

She shook her head slightly and said, "There's no substantial evidence, but the evidence they dohave point to the Roberts Group. Furthermore, the foreign companies can't continue operating."

"Isn't Austin handling the foreign companies?"

She looked at me in surprise and frowned, "Have you become stupid in the time you spent away? There was a virus outbreak in Western Europe about a month ago. Now it's a mess there. Peopleare rioting and shopping malls have been robbed. It's a wonder you've managed to stay alive. Howcan we talk about making money now?"

I really didn't know about those events. I've been so busy with the affairs in Lancille Village recently,so I've neglected to keep up with international news.

There was a knock on the door. It was Zachary, wearing a grey suit and holding a briefcase in hishand. His hair was combed clean and tidy. He looked at Freya and said, "Honey, I have anotherlesson in the afternoon. I'll be back late. The tickets to Ucrebury have been booked and the luggageis packed. See if there's anything to add!"

Freya held Oliver and stood up to send him off. She smiled and said, "It's alright. I've always beenproud of you. Let me send you out first!"

The two of them went downstairs and there was only silence in the room.

I sat in front of the dressing mirror, recalling Freya's words.

When I went downstairs.

Hendrix was no longer in the Moore Family home. Seeing that I was looking around, Valerie smiledhelplessly and said, "He's gone. He's been waiting for you for so long, even though he's so busy!"
