Chapter 1157

He stopped and didn't look back at me, as if he was waiting for me to say something.

"Are you all right?" I don't know why they came here. With his dark coloring, he stood out in this city. His messy look was something I've never seen on him either.

"I'm fine!" After responding to me, he walked away.

I stood in the alley for a while, dumbstruck. The rain was getting heavier. I came to my senses whenthe bodyguards approached with an umbrella in a belated attempt to shield me from the rain

"Did he follow me for a long time?" I asked the bodyguard.

He nodded. "It's been a while!"

"Hendrix knows?"

"Mr. Roberts only knows that someone is following you, but he doesn't know who he is."

I nodded.

The bodyguard handed his phone to me and said, "Mr. Roberts asked you to answer the phone!"

I eyed the phone but didn't move to take it. "Take

me back!"novelbin

He was shocked but kept his opinions to himself. He led me out of the alley and back to the car.

The villa was dark inside when we returned. But Hendrix's black Bentley was parked outside.

He was back.

I took a bracing breath and walked in. I opened the door, kicked my shoes off, and turned on theentrance lights.

Hendrix's face was dark, and there was a hint of barely concealed anger on his handsome face.

Our gazes met but I looked away first and went upstairs without saying a word.

Before I managed to enter the room, he grabbed my wrist and said in a low voice, "Why didn't youanswer the phone? Who did you meet today?"

I was a little tired and wet, and in no mood to talk to him. I said, "Just an old friend. My phone wasturned off!"

Then I extricated myself from his grip and went into the bedroom. I took my bathrobe, preparing togo into the bathroom, but he stood in my way, blocking me with his body. "Arianna, I've told you notto give me the cold shoulder!"

I was forced to stop and looked up at him. I said tiredly, "I got wet in the rain. Can you let me take a

shower? We'll talk later."

He was stunned for a moment and let me go, "Fine!"

I didn't thank him, just walked around him into the bathroom. The rain in September was a little cold, and the temperature had dropped low. After my shower, I started to feel a little dizzy. I've probablycaught a cold.

After exiting the bathroom, Hendrix looked at me and waited for me to start talking. I let him wait, not saying a word while I dried my hair and washed my face. After a while, he went into thebathroom to wash. I started to feel unwell and was losing the inclination to wait for him. I climbedinto bed and fell asleep.

fl heard a voice calling my name but I was too tired and lethargic to respond.

When I woke up the next day, I had a terrible cold, and my throat was beginning to ache. Hendrixwas nowhere to be found.

Since I planned to go back to Jarold City, after I woke up, I got dressed. But then a call came in.

Naomi chattered, "Arianna, will you be free in a few days' time? Let's have a meal together. Is thatokay?"

"What's wrong? Why the sudden invite?" I answered, nodding my head.

She said, "It was Rainie's idea. She mentioned that it's going to be Thanksgiving Day soon. Sincepeople naturally go home for the holidays, so we won't have time to meet. Why don't we have ameal together in a few days?"

Oh right, it was going to be Thanksgiving Day soon.

I nodded. "Alright, I did plan to visit Jarold City on Thanksgiving day. You're right in saying that Iprobably won't have time to meet you then." I then remembered that I met Westin the night before.
