Chapter 1148

I braced myself with a deep breath and walked to him. We entered the bathroom together.

As he stood there, I lowered my head slightly and reached out to unbuckle his belt Subconsicouly Ibit my lip while unbuttoning his pants and lowering his zipper.

Suddenly, he grabbed y hand, stopping me from doing more, suddenly held my hand, and his deepvoice was slightly hoarse. "Okay, I'll do it by myself!"

I relaxed and left him to it.

His mobile phone on the bed rang. Looking down at the caller ID, I didn't pick it up. It was Andrea, she was probably calling to check on Hendrix's injury.

However, the phone kept ringing, and Hendrix was still in the bathroom. Probably because he heardthe phone ringing, he called out, "You answer it!"

I pursed my lips and thought for a moment, and reluctantly answered the call. Before I could sayanything, an anxious cry came from the other end, "Hendrix, are you okay? Sorry, I really didn'tmean it. I didn't want to lose my temper, and I didn't want you to get hurt. I would rather get hurtthan let younovelbin

get hurt. I promise this is the last time. I will listen to you in the future and never mess aroundagain."

So Hendrix was injured because of Andrea?

I held the phone and didn't speak for a long time. The person on the other side cried so hard thatshe couldn't breathe. She choked and said, "Hendrix, are you still angry with me? I was wrong. Inthe future, I..."

"Stay away from him, there won't be a future," I said in a tone that wasn't friendly, with a hint ofanger.

The person on the other side gasped when she heard my voice. Then, she calmed down andstopped crying. She said, "Arianna, why are you answering Hendrix's phone? How could you be souncouth? How could you just answer someone else's call?"

I sneered, "What? No more tears now that you know I am not Hendrix? Your acting still has notimproved over the years. Sorry to disappoint you. It was Hendrix who asked me to answer thephone. He is in the bathroom right now, so it's not very convenient for him to answer the phone."

Whether it was out of anger or jealousy, she gave a cold snort and said, "Arianna, you don't have tobe so proud. I may not be able to marry Hendrix, but we're are still important to each other. He couldhave avoided what happened today, but he still protected me subconsciously. He would rather behurt in my stead. Yes, he may really love you and really want to protect you, but I have becomesomething that can't be erased from his heart. I'll continue being a hindrance to your relationship."

Instead of feeling angry, her insistence made me laugh. I said in a light tone, "Andrea, are youtired?"

Stunned silence then she said, "As long as I can make you feel uncomfortable, I'll never feel tired."

"Oh!" I nodded. "I hope you can hold on to that for the rest of your life."

Then I hung up the phone and put the mobile phone aside. I needed to take a bath and sleep.

Warm arms suddenly encircled me from behind and I froze. Hendrix's familiar scent teased mysenses. I grumbled half-heartedly, "How can you walk so quietly?"
