Chapter 1140

At first, I planned to return to the hotel for a bath and much needed sleep. But with the third party'sarrival, my plan had to be put on hold. After all, I was in charge of the project. It would beinappropriate if I didn't show up.

So I nodded and said, "Well, Let me know which room you'll be in. When I'm done dealing with theaffairs here at the base, I'll go over immediately." He agreed and hung up the phone.

I was exhausted by the time I got off work. The mobile phone in my bag kept going off, but I haven'thad the time to check who was calling.

As I left the base, I finally had the opportunity to check my dozens of messages.

It turned out that they were all from Hendrix. But instead of messages, they were all moneytransfers.

I grimaced in disapproval. The money will return to him within 24 hours.

Sebastian made a reservation for dinner at the hotel that evening. When I was about to take Hugo'scar, I saw Hendrix in a black suit with flowers in his hand standing at the entrance to the base.

I had to admit it was quite romantic. He knew to have flowers when admitting his mistake.

I pretended not to see him. When I saw Hugo, I said, "Mr. Lance, I might have to take your car tothe hotel."

He glanced briefly at Hendrix, smiled and said, "Did you have a fight?"

I smiled and said with a little embarrassment, "Is it on your route?"

He smiled and said, "It's on my route!"

As I walked with him to the car, Hendrix blocked my way. He handed me the flowers in his arms andsaid, "I'm here to pick you up from work!"

I didn't reach out to take it. I said, "Oh, no need. I'll get a ride with Mr. Lance back to the hotel. Idon't need to bother you."

After that, I walked around him.novelbin

He followed behind me and said helplessly, "What happened today was my fault. If you're going tolose your temper and be in a bad mood, I don't mind. Let's go back to the hotel and you can punishme any way you want, okay?"

I stopped in my tracks and looked back at him. "Oh!" Then I reached out and took the flowers in hishand and said, "Okay, let's go back!"

He stared at me in confusion. He probably didn't expect me to take the flowers. I kept silent too andgot into Hugo's car.

Hugo started the car and looked at Hendrix, who was still standing there in shock, and then lookedat me, saying, "My wife often gets angry with me, but every time after I buy her a gift and send herflowers, she'll be all right again then cook what I love to eat."

I saw the smile at the corner of his mouth. I couldn't help admiring, "Your wife must be very happy!"

He smiled faintly and looked at me. "You're also very happy, aren't you? Look at Mr. Roberts. Themoment you're angry, he gives up his identity as a big boss, forgets his dignity and comes to pickyou up in person. And you even left him hanging."

I smiled cheekily, "That's because he did something wrong."

He smiled faintly. "Men and women are just like this. When my wife was young, she always liked toget angry. When I don't give her a call, she will start to quarrel with me. Every time she made a fuss,I didn't know what to do. But now that she is old, her temper is much better. Of course, if I don't gohome for a long time, she will still cry like a child."

I took out my phone and impulsively approved all the transfers from Hendrix. Then I sent him anemoji.

He texted back instantly, "What do you want to eat for dinner? I'll order in!"

I typed back. I have to meet our client tonight. Let's eat another day!
