Chapter 1138

Hendrix asked the passersby he met but no one knows anything. Meanwhile the bodyguardsfollowed and explained quietly, "Mr. Roberts, we lost Miss Burton on the way back to therestaurant."

"Did you see anyone suspicious?" Hendrix asked calmly.novelbin

The bodyguard shook his head and said, "I've been following Miss Burton, and I didn't see anysuspicious people. However, Miss Burton deliberately left me behind."

Hendrix frowned, glanced at him, and said, "Continue to search this area!"

I narrowed my eyes in thought then interrupted Hendrix. "There's no need to search. Let's go backto the restaurant. The food is cold by now."

After that, I didn't wait for Hendrix, and immediately walked back to the restaurant. Just as I thought,Andrea had returned and was casually sitting at our table

She looked at us in surprise and said, "Hendrix, where have you been? I didn't see you for a longtime and I thought you had gone back!"

I curled my lips in disdain and returned to my seat with a sneer. Then I asked the restaurant boss tostart serving the dishes.

Hendrix frowned at Andrea, displeased. "Why did you turn off your phone?"

She plastered an innocent look on her face then lowered her head and took out her mobile phonefrom her bag. She looked back at Hendrix with a blank face and said helplessly, "I don't know. Mymobile phone seems to be turned off. I don't know how this happened. What's wrong?"

Hendrix pursed his lips and replied indifferently, "Nothing!"

The restaurant boss began to serve the dishes. I lowered my head and ate seriously. I wascompletely in no mood to participate in the conversation.

Andrea saw that we were all irritated so she looked at Hendrix in confusion and said, "Hendrix, whyare you so unhappy? What's wrong? Did I do something wrong?"

I slammed the chopsticks on the table. It wasn't loud, but it was forceful enough to attract attention.

Andrea stared at me with a terrified look. I scoffed, grabbing tissue to wipe my mouth.

I looked at her in disgust. "Aren't you tired?" "Miss Reid, what are you talking about? I don'tunderstand," she said helplessly,

My expression haughty, I retorted, "What I mean is, aren't you tired of acting like this? Andrea, youare over 30 years old. As a woman, if you were putting on an act for your husband, I'd find itadmirable. But please see, this is my man. He's not a target for you to act coquettish with. Soplease don't be like a cat in heat when you see him in the future, okay?"

"You..." These words were a direct slap to her face. For a moment, tears welled up in her eyes asshe looked at Hendrix with a pitiful and innocent expression. "Hendrix, I don't understand. I'vealways been like this. You know all of this. I'm not like what she said."

Hendrix frowned but did not support her. He just looked at her and said, "It's getting late. Let's goback to the hotel and have a good rest after dinner. Austin will probably arrive this evening." He didnot intend to talk about what had just happened.

After that, Hendrix put fish into my bowl and said, "You only ate a few bites, aren't you hungry?"

"I don't have an appetite!" I said and was ready to leave.

Hendrix stopped me and asked, "What do you want to eat? We'll go eat it later."
