Chapter 1109

I let him hold me, and my heart was filled with mixed feelings of joy and sorrow. I was reallyfortunate to survive.

I swore that I would never leave him again for the rest of my life. Those few minutes in that freezer, that moment of near death, the blood pumping in my veins had told me how wrong I had been topush him away from me. I never should have done that, I never should have argued unnecessarilywith him.

It was pure luck that I could meet Hendrix during my short life.

"Hendrix!" I called out, and put my arms around his neck as I looked at him.

He answered and held me in his arms. His voice was a little hoarse, but there was intertwining joyand exhaustion in his eyes.

"I love you, very very much!" I said. From our first encounter till then, after ten years of marriage, Ihad never said those words to him. At that moment, I felt that if I didn't tell him, I would no longerhave another opportunity to do so.

Either way, I couldn't let myself regret anything again.

He looked at me, his gaze meaningful. Then, he nodded, took a short breath, and kissed me on theforehead as he said, "I will never let you down."

I couldn't help but laugh. It was so nice to be alive.

Lying in his arms and enjoying the peace for a while, I suddenly remembered the day of the incidentand couldn't help asking, "That day...what on earth happened?"

Who would want to kill me? I would have lost my life in less than two hours if I was kept longer inthe freezer.novelbin

If Hendrix hadn't appeared in time, I would have died.

He hugged me and tightened his arms as he explained, "I was having a meal with Austin and theothers when I received a call from Naomi. When I arrived at the hospital, I found that you weremissing. Later, I checked the surveillance tapes and found that you had been taken away. Therewas no surveillance camera in the morgue, so I spent some time looking for you."

His voice was a little low and slightly hoarse. I couldn't imagine what he looked like when he foundme. Perhaps he was like the frozen seafood in the freezer, stiff and covered in frost.

Perhaps, he had been in even worse shape.

Looking up at him, I couldn't help but ask, "Have

you found out who did it?"

He frowned and I could feel his mood getting worse. He replied, "Before that allergic reactionoccurred, you ate crabs and green tea. There was sesame in both. I'm not sure if you were set up inadvance by someone."

I frowned subconsciously. I knew that I was allergic to sesame seeds, but I had never mentionedthat to anyone, including Hendrix, and only Grandma knew that I was allergic to them.

I hadn't eaten many sesame seeds growing up. Eating a little bit would not cause too much of areaction, I learned, as sesame seeds were used to make food seasoning. It didn't matter as long asI consumed a minimal amount of it.

Even so, no one would've known about my allergy in advance, and the situation in the hospital wassuspicious.

The man obviously wanted me dead, from injecting anesthesia into my body and placing me in themorgue. Had his actions been out of impulse, or were they premeditated in advance?

I could not help but give a bitter smile, "That person really thought things through. He did everythingin one go. He was even confident enough to keep my corpse whole."

Hendrix's face darkened and he said coldly,

"Nothing like this will ever happen in the future."

I leaned into his arms and knew in my heart that he would investigate the matter. After a pause, Isaid, "If you find out who it is in the end, I want to meet him!"

"Okay!" Hendrix said, but the coldness in his eyes remained. "Take good care of your body. Leavethe rest to me!"
