Chapter 1075

After hesitating for a moment, I turned around and ran back again.

Hendrix was still there at the entrance. When he saw me, he smiled.

I ran to the side of the car, looked at him, and said, "Be good! See you in the evening!" Then, Ikissed him on the cheek.novelbin

When I saw his surprised face, I held back my laughter, waved, and walked to the hospital.

"See you!" His low voice came from behind.

I smiled and waved back, stepping into the hospital briskly.

In the ward...

Naomi's head was bandaged, and she was lying on the hospital bed, looking a little haggard.Sebastian was sitting upright beside her, peeling fruits. When he heard me enter, he looked up andgot up, asking, "Was there a traffic jam on the road?"

I shook my head awkwardly and said with a smile, "No, I left home a little late earlier."

I changed the topic to Naomi and asked, "Is Naomi feeling better?"

Sebastian nodded. "She just finished her meal and fell asleep. Stay here with her for a while. I havesomething to handle."

As he said that, he took his coat and was ready to leave.

Indeed, Milton Group was always busy at work and he had been in the ward for so long. Clearly, hemust have delayed a lot of work matters.

I didn't say much, just told him to take care, and then sat by the hospital bed waiting for Naomi towake up.

Half an hour later, Naomi woke up and seemed to be a little confused. She said in a hoarse voice,"Arianna, you're here!"

I nodded. I helped her sit up on the bed and asked her how she was. Then I said, "Why did you runto the foundation alone? It's full of mud there and you're usually such a clean-freak!"

She looked at me, furrowed her eyebrows, and said, "If I said that I didn't go there on my own, would you believe me?"

I was stunned, but I still nodded and said suspiciously, "So, you met someone else yesterday, andthat person is an acquaintance?"

She pursed her lips and said, "We're not acquaintances, but he looked familiar. But I can'tremember where we had met before..."

"What's going on?"

She was silent for a moment and said, "Yesterday, I was picking fruit in the yard, and then I saw thisperson in the yard. At first, I thought it was someone from the base, so I talked to him. Later, he saidthat he was familiar with the area, and the fruits I picked were not sweet. He said he would bring meto pick better fruits, so I trusted him."

I touched my forehead. "So you followed him and got yourself injured?"

She nodded and spoke like a child, "I still don't understand why he wanted to hurt me. I didn'tprovoke him at all. And, it's my first time going to the base. It's impossible for me to have offendedhim before!"

I pursed my lips and thought of the things that had happened recently. Perhaps they were not acoincidence!

I immediately asked, "Did you talk to Sebastian about this?"

She nodded. "I explained it to him, but he said he would check it out. There are a lot of workers atthe base. It would be normal for a young girl to be noticed and harassed by a bad person..."

This was also true, but the burglary was just a few days ago, and now this had happened. WasNaomi's matter really an accident?

There were no clues to this, for the time being, hence Naomi and I did not continue talking about it.

In the afternoon, Tina and the others had heard about what happened to Naomi, so they all came tosee her.

When Naomi saw Dahlia coming with Tina, Naomi brought up an old issue. "Dahlia, we haven'tcontacted each other after the last incident. I have something to ask you, but I had no chance to askuntil now!"

Tina was astounded and asked, "What's the matter? You could call if you don't have time. Or youcould text about it in the group chat. Have you all been so busy recently?"

Naomi nodded and looked at her. "Indeed, I'm really busy recently."

Seeing Naomi's solemn face, Tina also became serious. She looked at Naomi and asked, "What'sthe matter?"
