Chapter 1009

After | said my piece, | walked out. Hugo happened to come by with a truck, when he saw me he said, "Miss Reid, you want tohead over to the attractions right? Let's go together then!"

Iran up to him and said, "Uh-huh, sorry to trouble you."So | got into the truck with him.

Sometimes, | wished I led a simple life. Hugo and | talked about the project along the way. He said, "We will be quite busy for thenext couple of days, and as you've just arrived, it may take a while to adjust. We sometimes stay on until midnight, and clock inearly the next day."

| thought for a moment and said, "It takes an hour to drive here from the city. Going back and forth each day takes up a lot oftime."

He nodded and said with a smile, "Yes, indeed, that's why there is temporary housing here. But tonight will be fine, afteraccompanying Mr. Roberts and the clients for dinner, we'll just exchange some documents and that will be it.”

After stopping the truck at the attractions site, he took me directly to the hotel restaurant. On the way, he briefly introduced andexplained to me the current issues they were facing.

| probably didn't sleep well last night. After entering the hotel, | found a place to sit down to wait and ended up but dozing off.

Fortunately, Hugo woke me up in time and said, "Don't doze off now, in just a moment we will need to welcome Mr. Roberts’guests."

| nodded and followed him out. We waited at the entrance of the hotel lobby, and soon Hendrix and Rowane arrived.Perhaps it was because of the harsh things | said, but Hendrix didn't even look my way.

Ablack Bentley appeared at the entrance of the hotel. It came to a halt, and a kind-looking old man, around the age of 70,greeted us.

“Hendrix, | haven't seen you for a long time. | almost didn't recognize you!" The old man said, his voice deep and charming.

Hendrix smiled and gestured him into the hotel before saying, "| have been busy all these years, so | don't have time to visit you,Grandpa. I'm really sorry."

As | followed next to Hugo | asked, "Do you know him?"

Hugo nodded and said, "That is Ziglar Attwood, a respected peer from Asherton. However, the old man keeps a low profile. Hebought a piece of land in Lancille Village and lives a mundane life, but he has a high standing in certain social groups. All therespectable people in Asherton are afraid of him, but respect him nonetheless.”

Attwood?Curious, | asked further, "Are there many with the surname Attwood in Asherton?"

He shook his head. "Not many, only the Attwood family. Why do you ask?"

| shook my head. | remembered the incident at the bar. It explained Oscar Hathaway's giving in to Naomi. That meant that the old man Naomi mentioned was likely Ziglar.
