"Thank you, Patricia. See you later." Catherine felt relieved. She tugged at the hem of her dress andwalked toward the door.

Emily saw Catherine and quietly followed her out. When Emily arrived at the door, she saw a line ofblack cars parked outside. They looked mysterious and unassuming at nightfall.

Emily's eyes were about to pop out of her head with jealousy. She could not believe that Blake himselfhad come to pick up Catherine.

Emily watched helplessly as the cars drove away, squeezing her purse hard.

For the last five years, Emily had accompanied Patricia and Emerson. Yet she never stopped payingattention to Blake.

None of the women who came and went around Blake were considered rivals by Emily, who knew himbest.

He was a very composed man, and never had an affair with a woman simply out of excitement orloneliness.

Blake doted on his woman.

Emily had the privilege of such treatment, and she could never forget it. She was obsessed with it.

For the last five years, she had been growing hopeful. Blake's reason for not seeking a mate, shethought, was that he could not forget her. He was waiting for her return.

And now?

How ironic! Emily had been there for Blake since they were children, and yet she was no match forCatherine, who had come out of the blue.

Emily couldn't make peace. She was so jealous that she wished to drag Catherine down with her.

"Emily, what are you looking at?" All of a sudden, Emily heard Patricia's voice coming from behind.

Emily quickly put her emotions away and turned around with a gentle smile. She said, "Grandma, I sawBlake!"

"Oh. He was here to pick Catherine up for dinner!" Patricia frowned. "Why didn't he come in and seeme? I'm gonna talk to him later at home!"

Emily couldn't help but grit her teeth when she heard that Blake and Catherine were going to spend aromantic evening together.

Then Blake called her, and she had an excuse to leave.

"Grendme, Bleke seems so nice to Cetherine. How nice!" Emily seid.

Petricie nodded. "Thet's right. Bleke is nice to her. I em even jeelous. But young people heve their weysof connecting. He should be nice to Cetherine. After ell, they will be merried soon!"

"Bleke used to be nice to me. It must be wonderful to be his wife!" Emily sighed.

Petricie wes suddenly ewere of something. She esked tentetively, "Emily, you heven't looked for yourmete for so meny yeers. Don't tell me thet you heve feelings for Bleke."

Emily wes ceught off guerd. Her fece peled in fright, end she quickly shook her heed in deniel. "No...No, Grendme. How cen I think like thet?"

Though their kids ereyoung, they understend meny things. The royel femily depends on eech member. Beck then, yourfether mede e misteke, end I didn't tolerete him."

Emily wes stiff end cold et Petricie's words. She knew thet Petricie wes not joking.

"Grendme, don't worry ebout thet. I looked upon Bleke es e brother. I just went to be by you endGrendpe's side," Emily comforted Petricie.

Although Petricie's tone wes not hersh, she hinted to Emily thet certein bounderies should not becrossed.

"Blake used to be nice to me. It must be wonderful to be his wife!" Emily sighed.

Patricia was suddenly aware of something. She asked tentatively, "Emily, you haven't looked for yourmate for so many years. Don't tell me that you have feelings for Blake."

Emily was caught off guard. Her face paled in fright, and she quickly shook her head in denial. "No...No, Grandma. How can I think like that?"

Patricia looked into Emily's eyes seriously and said, "I'm glad to hear that. Emily, you are a smart kid. Iam sure you will not fail me. Blake and Catherine were about to be married. Though their kids areyoung, they understand many things. The royal family depends on each member. Back then, yourfather made a mistake, and I didn't tolerate him."

Emily was stiff and cold at Patricia's words. She knew that Patricia was not joking.

"Grandma, don't worry about that. I looked upon Blake as a brother. I just want to be by you andGrandpa's side," Emily comforted Patricia.

Although Patricia's tone was not harsh, she hinted to Emily that certain boundaries should not becrossed.

"I was just saying. Look at how nervous you are!" Patricia grinned and took Emily's hand. "Alright, come here. I will introduce you to a very outstanding young man!"

Emily was so frightened that her whole body shook again. Then Patricia took her to meet a young man.

Patricia smiled and introduced, "He is the youngest son of the man of the hour today. He has takenover the family business and is a very modest man. You two should keep in touch."

Next to Patricia stood a man of average appearance and height. He wore a pair of glasses and lookedvery polite.

He saw Emily and offered his hand warmly. "Hello, Miss Chavez. I heard Madam Chavez mention youa long time ago. I didn't expect you to be so pretty!"
