Chapter 137

Chapter 137

Catherine’s POV

Blake said to me with deep affection in his eyes, “Are you still angry with me for what happened at thebeginning? Maybe I’ve been on top too long to understand how hard it is to raise kids. That’s why Ithink it is such an honor for you to have my babies. Now, I finally realize how hard it must have been foryou to raise two kids as a single mom. And I’m sure Howard knows that now, too. As the father of thekids, I should take good care of you in addition to being grateful to you. Will you give me a chance?”

My eyes narrowed. I had a delusion.

“You’re right. I should show the courage that I have!” I smiled.

Blake looked at me in surprise.

I realized that I could only calm down completely when I wasn’t captivated by Blake.

“Besides, it’s not a big deal being with you anyway. We signed an agreement. I promised to act as yourgirlfriend well. of course, I should keep my promise.” I became sharp-tongued again.

The elevator stopped. Then the elevator doors opened, and the emptiness coming at me wasoverwhelming.

I suppressed the nervousness deep down and pretended to be calm as I followed Blake out.

As we passed through a corridor, my gaze froze for a moment when I saw the grand, bright corridor inmidair.

“Can I go over there and have a look?” I had always wanted to enjoy the view of the scene in thecorridor in midair.

It must be very spectacular and amazing.

“Sure. Let’s go!” Blake pulled my hand very naturally.

I could not help but roll my eyes. He was so unreasonable. I made it clear I didn’t like holding handswith him.

Why did he keep acting like he had lost his memory?

Did he do it on purpose?

He was so terrible!

The light in front of me became more and more dazzling, and a light breeze blew over.

My eyes widened in shock as I walked down the glass corridor.

I exclaimed and then froze. I was unable to move.

Next to me, Blake laughed charmingly. “Are you afraid of heights?”

I didn’t dare to look down, because I had no idea that the corridor was made of pure glass. How couldthis be?

The corridor downstairs was not made of glass!

“Help… help me!” I only felt a little short of breath, and my hand fiercely grabbed Blake’s arm.

I hooked his arm so tightly that I was about to stick to his body. “Blake, get me out of here quickly. I’mdizzy!”

Blake cursed in a low voice and quickly pulled me into his arms. He ordered in a low voice, “Close youreyes!”

I quickly closed my eyes obediently and felt that my body, which was about to collapse, was picked upby two strong arms.

Then, the fear from the depths of my heart suddenly disappeared.

I shivered and opened my eyes. And then I met Blake’s concerned gaze. He said, “Are you alright? Ihad no idea you were so afraid of heights.”

My entire body was still trembling, and I felt like my legs were so weak.

“Why would you build a glass corridor so high up?” It was so terrifying!

Normal people couldn’t enjoy Blake’s hobbies at all.

“I can be more courageous in such a way.” Blake smiled faintly.

I had yet to recover. I felt as if I had experienced a nightmare. The feeling of being in the air just nowwas like a shadow that could not be dispelled from the bottom of my heart.

“I’ll take you to the office so that you can lie down and rest for a bit!” Blake carried me to his office.

Henry, who was outside Blake’s office, as well as Blake’s other assistants, all opened their eyes wideand looked at Blake in disbelief.

“Who is she? She is lucky enough to be carried in by King Blake!”

“I don’t know. I didn’t even see that woman’s face. Is she King Blake’s mate as has been rumoredrecently?”

“I envy her so much. I didn’t know King Blake had such a soft side!”

Henry heard the whispers of the group of people next to him and immediately scolded sternly, “Haveyou done your work? How dare you talk behind King Blake?”

Hearing Henry’s words, everyone quickly shut their mouths and stopped talking.

Hearing everyone’s discussion, I felt a little ernbarrassed. Fortunately, Blake carried me into the office, and then he gently put me on the sofa.

“I’ll get you a glass of water.” He pressed the intercom on his desk

After a short while, a female assistant came in with a glass of water.

Blake came over, took the water, sat beside me, and brought the glass to my lips. “Take a sip. Ease thepressure.”

“Thank you.” I whispered.

“When did you become afraid of heights?” asked Blake, frowning.

It was only then that I thought of the scene of me being treated unfairly by Gina and Elena when I wasa child.

Elena thought I had stolen some money, so she hung me on the balcony on the second floor. AlthoughI was only out there for half an hour, the balcony was also made of glass, which made me afraid ofnovelbin

heights ever since.

Later, Elena found out that it was Gina who stole the money. But she didn’t care. She still believed thatI was the one who stole it.

“When I was a child.” I drank a few mouthfuls of water and calmed down a lot.

“Who caused it?” Blake asked as he looked at the expression on my face.

One wouldn’t be afraid of heights for no reason, so he wanted to know the cause. But I didn’t want tohave anything to do with Black Moon Pack anymore.
