Chapter 91

Chapter 91

Liam let out a weary sigh after listening to Celena, his voice tinged with resignation. “Celena, do youtrust me?”

“Yes!”

With a firm nod, Celena stepped closer and clasped Liam’s hand. “I trust you completely!”

“Will you let me handle this, then?”

Their hands locked together.

He then turned, his gaze as sharp as a blade slicing through the air as he faced the onlookers. Hisvoice cut through the tension. “We’re not affiliated with Stone Group. They’re nothing to us! Theydisowned my wife Celena seven years ago, and that was the end of it.”

His declaration sent shockwaves through the crowd, leaving Yafe and his group reeling.

Cheryl’s face was a mask of confusion as she looked at Celena, but inside, she breathed a sigh ofrelief. The last thing she wanted was for Celena to acknowledge her past and return to the Stonefamily. She would rather lose the deal than have Celena reclaim her place.

However, the green-eyed monster whispered in her ear, reminding her how Celena had dazzled thecrowd and charmed Max Group today. It gnawed at her, the thought that Celena had stolen thespotlight that rightfully belonged to Cheryl.

Why should it be Celena?

“Liam! Be quiet!”

The chance nearly in his pocket had been snatched away by Liam.

Yafe’s anger boiled over. He spun around to face Celena, his hand raised high, ready to strike herface as he bellowed, “What’s wrong with you? Are you mute? Can’t you speak up for yourself? Areyou always waiting for Liam, the good-for-nothing, to do your talking? You don’t even know yourown family anymore. What a piece of work you

are!”

Celena’s eyes popped wide open in shock as Yafe’s hand came at her. She instinctively curled herarms around her head, her whole body shaking with fear.

However, Yafe’s hand never made contact with Celena. Liam caught it mid-swing!

Liam gripped Yafe’s wrist tightly, his eyes glinting with a deadly novelbin

warning. Yafe sure has a fiery temper! As long as I’m here, nobody touches Celena. Not a soul andthat includes you!”

Yafe gulped, feeling pain in his wrist from Liam’s hold. His eyes locked with Liam’s intimidatinggaze.

“What are you trying to do? I’m her dad. It’s my right to discipline her!” Yafe protested, his voicefaltering under the pressure of Liam’s stare as if the air around him had grown thin.

Liam released his wrist with a flick, his stern stare never wavering. So you want that deal she’sholding? What are you willing to do for it?”

Yafe’s brother did not wait for Liam to finish. “We agree! We agree to

it all!”

Yafe exploded with a roar, his face twisted in displeasure.

Liam glanced over at the man before him and said, “First off, the Stone family is going to welcomeCelena back with all the pomp and circumstance she deserves. Everyone, including Reginaldhimself, got to be there in person. Second, you all owe Celena a public apology.”

His gaze then landed on Cheryl, even colder than before. Cheryl’s face drained of color, and sheshivered uncontrollably.

“And Cheryl, you’ll bow down and beg for Celena and Jovie’s

forgiveness. You’ll keep at it until Celena says she forgives you. If not, the Stone family can forgetabout this deal.”
