Chapter 264

Celena's puzzled but anticipating look made Liam want to tell her the truth. However, it was not thetime yet. Thank goodness he managed to hold his tongue in time when she came.

Holding in his urge, he smiled and explained, "It's nothing. I wanted to say I'm King Pendragon'ssubordinate!"

Without waiting for Celena to ask any other questions, Liam quickly changed the topic and said,"Jovie is injured. Let's first take her to the hospital."

It was only then Celena quickly checked on Jovie's swollen forehead. She felt so heartbroken thattears filled her eyes. She looked so worried, and there was a catch in her throat as she said,"Alright. Let's quickly go to the hospital! How could she be hurt so badly—"

Jovie was lying on Liam's shoulder. After she saw Celena's worried gaze, she immediately threwherself into her arms. She cried sadly while wrapping her arms around Celena's neck. She pursedher lips with much grievance.

"Mom, it hurts! It hurts so much."

Jovie's tears broke Celena's heart. She quickly dashed to the nearest hospital with Jovie in herarms.

Whatever Celena heard about King Pendragon or Barbie was all thrown to the back of her mind.Liam secretly glanced at Celena, who was walking beside him with Jovie in her embrace, and hefelt relieved and a little guilty.

Celena was mad at him for not being truthful before. However, he had no other choice. He did notdare to put Celena and Jovie at risk, and he could not bring himself to do so either.

After they left, Calum arrived at Christopher Mall to deal with the aftermath personally.novelbin

The CEO's office at the mall had a suffocating atmosphere.

Calum sat at the chair in the office, and beside him stood the mafia boss of Drunham City, Eaden.Edward and the senior executives of the mall were all standing nervously at the corner. They keptwiping off the beads of sweat that were breaking out on their foreheads.

Calum looked so terrifying that Edward and the others could feel a shiver down their spines. Whatwas more surprising to them was that Eaden was standing humbly and respectfully beside Calum.

They were merely the executive directors of this tiny mall. They did not have any courage to raisetheir heads in front of someone like Eaden at all.

However, the person that everyone in Drunham City looked up to was standing quietly next toCalum with a humble demeanor. This showed that Calum was also a prominent character with aterrifying identity.

What made them even more fearful was what Calum said to them.

Calum said, "Remember, forget whatever happened in the mall today. You must all be a united front. If any of you dares to reveal my boss' identity, I'm sure you don't need me to elaborate on theconsequences, right? My boss still doesn't want to reveal his identity yet. Have I made myselfclear?"

Calum sat on the chair with a hardened expression. He was speaking in a calm tone, but it madeEdward and the rest quiver.

"Yes, yes! We understand! We'll do as we're told!" Edward replied while nodding with all of hismight, fearing that he would not respond in time.

It was only then Calum stood up and left like the wind, bringing along Eaden, who looked like hissubmissive subordinate.

After Calum left for a long while, Edward finally heaved a sigh of relief. He wanted to move his legsto the couch, but he realized his knees were weak. He sat down with great difficulty and collapsedon the couch in exhaustion.

It was when Edward finally recovered that he suddenly remembered he did not have the chance toreport this to the headquarters. He quickly made a call to the head office. He thought that theheadquarters would have some opinions.
