Chapter 213

Cheryl gave Celena a few slaps in a row, and her sharp nails scratched Celena's face. In an instant,Celena's face was covered in blood. Cheryl got some on her hand as well. She immediatelyreleased her hand in disgust, shook it a little, and cursed, "That's so gross."

Celena was curled up on the ground in pain. Her tears and the blood on her face stained herclothes, dying it red.

Right at that moment, Jovie walked out of the cottage in her pajamas while rubbing her eyes. Sheprobably just woke up.

As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw Celena on the ground with her face covered in blood. She got so frightened that she rushed over to Celena in tears and hugged her tightly.

Jovie put herself in front of Celena and looked at Cheryl and Reginald in anger.

"You are all evil! You bully my mother! You are all terrible people who bully my mother!"

"Jovie!" Celena quickly pulled her into her arms, hugging her tightly to protect her. She had fear inher eyes as she watched the members of the Stone family around her criticizing her.

"She is such a bitch. We shouldn't have let her back into the family. Other than tainting the Stonefamily name, she would only do things that would put the family at a disadvantage."

"You're right. She's a bitch, and she has that little bastard child with her. Our family was condemnedso much that we couldn't even hold up our heads anymore. Still, she dared to help an outsiderembezzle money from the company. She truly is something else."

"I agree! Celena, you'd better tell the truth and quickly explain yourself. Otherwise, you and yourbastard child are going to be thrown out of the family."

Jovie looked at Celena's bloodied face and felt so sorry that she cupped her face and blew on herwounds. She helped Celena wipe her tears, and she kept comforting her by saying, "Don't cry,Mom. Dad will be back soon. He'll beat them up. Dad said he would protect you. Don't be scared,Mom."

Cheryl sneered and said in a frosty voice, "Hmph! You can dream on, you little crossbreed! Liam's aloser, yet he wants to protect this bitch? Now that the situation has been exposed, he's probablyalready hiding somewhere. Your father doesn't want you anymore!"

Her last comment about Liam not wanting Jovie anymore made Jovie lose her mind. What Joviefeared the most was that her father would abandon her after he finally came back.

Because of Cheryl's words, Jovie broke free from Celena's arms in anger. She rushed towardCheryl and pushed her with all her might.

Cheryl was in heels, so she lost her footing after she was suddenly pushed. She took a few stepsback and sprained her ankle after she stumbled. Then, she fell to the ground.

The pain from her ankle pissed Cheryl off. She endured the pain as she stood, and then shefuriously slapped Jovie's face.

As she was filled with rage, she packed a lot of strength in that slap. It would have been a hard blowfor an adult, let alone a child like Jovie.novelbin

Sure enough, Jovie was sent flying because of the slap. Her face immediately swelled and a redhandprint appeared on it. She was even bleeding out of the corner of her mouth.

Jovie immediately burst into tears as soon as she landed on the ground.

Celena's eyes widened when she saw that. She ignored the pain in her body and quickly crawledover to hug Jovie. She frantically checked Jovie's face and felt heartbroken.

"Jovie, Jovie! Let me have a look!"

Celena saw that Jovie's blood could not stop bleeding from the corner of her mouth. She felt sorryfor Jovie as she helped her wipe off the blood.

At the same time, she stared at Cheryl resentfully with tears in her eyes and bellowed, "Cheryl, howdare you slap my daughter?"
