Chapter 166

That turn of events had people mocking Liam instantly silenced, their faces etched withastonishment and fear as if trying to decipher the enigma that was Liam.

Yale and the security captain were particularly incredulous, unable to believe the spectacleunfolding before them.

They watched, wide-eyed, as the captain at the helm, exuding an air of noble purpose, strode in. Hemarched directly up to Liam, snapped to attention, and saluted with the utmost respect. "Report! Perthe orders from our superiors, the Eighth Engineer Battalion, all one hundred and twenty-eightmembers, are present and accounted for! Awaiting your command, Mr. Cole!"

The captain's gesture and words shattered any lingering doubts in Yale and the security captain. Those men were all there for Liam, and he was clearly not someone to mess with.

The room was enveloped in shock.

Liam gave the captain a measured nod, then turned his icy stare to Yale and asked in a chillingtone, "Do you think I have the means to take this place apart now?"

A single offhand remark sent shivers down Yale's spine. His forehead broke out in a chilling sweat, and his back drenched as if caught in a downpour.

He had coasted into the role of marketing manager on the coattails of his connections, often flexinghis power like a small-time tyrant. However, nothing had prepared him for a showdown like that.

Yale's habitual arrogance kicked in despite the very real soldiers and armored vehicles before him.He convinced himself that Liam was just putting on a show with hired goons since Liam did not looklike he had the power to pull off something genuine. Yale erupted in a haughty bellow.

"Ha! You think you can fool me? These guys are all actors you've paid off. Let me tell you, impersonating soldiers is a serious crime, punishable by death! Kid, you've sealed your fate!"

His voice growing firmer with each word, Yale explained his theory to the crowd, then fixed Liamwith a furious glare. "I've got to hand it to you for being so thorough, recruiting all these extras. However, really, you're just digging your own grave!"

Liam's brow creased in annoyance at the accusation.

Yale was the kind of man who would not shed a tear until he was in his coffin.

"Security! Get everyone from the security department down here, and take these fakes to the policestation! The nerve, pretending to be soldiers. That's a death sentence!"

Yale was beside himself, barking orders, but the security guards did not budge. Their presence wasfar too commanding to be mere actors.

Then, at that very moment, a deep, authoritative voice cut through the tension from the back of thecrowd.novelbin

"Enough! Yale, what in the world are you doing?"

The spectators parted like the Red Sea, creating a clear path for Kolten and his assistant, bothdrenched in sweat, as they hurried forward.

He was in a panic, gasping for air. He was drenched in sweat, his face ghostly white.

When Yale spotted Kolten, it was like he had found his rock. He bolted toward him, yelling, "Mr.Reath, this guy came looking for a fight, gave me a beating, and even hired these actors to pose assoldiers! He's even spouting nonsense about taking down our company!"

Yale expected Kolten to fly into a rage and take Liam and his crew down a peg or two.

However, instead...

What he got was a loud slap across the face. Kolten's hand struck Yale, causing him to bleed fromhis forehead and the corner of his mouth!

Kolten glared at Yale, his eyes ablaze with fury, and said icily, "If Mr. Cole wants it gone, then it's asgood as gone!"
