Chapter 126

"Wait! That man looks so familiar! Isn't that Liam and Celena? They're even holding that little scumof a daughter in their arms!"

Liam helped Celena out of the jeep, then picked Jovie up in his arms and stood proudly beforeeveryone. Everyone, including the Stones, finally snapped out of their stupor. Their looks ofexcitement and longing immediately turned to disgust and distaste.

"Damn it! I thought it was the King Pendragon, but it turns out it's just that scumbag Liam! Whatrotten luck! What a waste of our time!"

"Hey, that's strange… Why would Liam be sitting in a jeep with all the tanks escorting him here?"

Celena was so nervous that her palms were covered in sweat. If it had not been for Liam clutchingher tightly, she would have turned and left right that minute. She had always been afraid of publicscrutiny. It terrified her and made her want to crawl into a shell.

Liam could feel her trembling next to him, so he gently squeezed her hand in reassurance. Then, hepulled her aside and waited quietly in a corner, ignoring everyone's angry spats around him.

Cheryl was the first to snap out of her stupor among the rest of the Stones. She immediatelystomped toward Celena in her four-inch stilettos and tilted her chin smugly toward Celena. "Howdare you even show up here, Celena? Have you ever been to such a formal event before? Oh, Iknow! You're just here to pig out, aren't you? You cheap little bitch!" Cheryl snarled, staring atCelena with utter disdain.

"What a waste of our time. I thought the King Pendragon had arrived, but it turns out it was just thethree of them! I can't believe the audacity. How can they possibly think they deserve to even sit in ajeep like a proper army general?"novelbin

"What an embarrassment! Poor Stone family. They must be utterly humiliated! What are they evendoing here, anyway?"

"Hey, keep your voice down. Didn't Lieutenant Andrews say that Liam and Mr. Lynch are goodfriends?"

Sherah overheard this conversation and immediately piped up, "Good friends? Nonsense! I askedMr. Lynch myself yesterday, and he says that they're not particularly close. He's just looking out forLiam because he's an army veteran. How can they possibly be good friends? Come on! I'mguessing that Liam took advantage of Mr. Lynch's kindness and decided to mooch off the privilege! That's why he got to arrive in a jeep and escort!"

Sherah said that so loudly that not just the Stones, but the rest of the people standing nearby couldhear her. Everyone rolled their eyes in disgust and began to complain, "What the hell? Howshameless is he? Mr. lynch was simply kind enough to look out for him, yet he took advantage ofMr. Lynch like that! How can he ask for such frivolous things?"

"That's right. Do you remember General Lexington of the Southern Division? Even he doesn't makea scene when going out, so how can a lowly veteran like Liam possibly match himself to thatstatus? Come on. Why doesn't he ask for a military plane while he's at it?"

There was no way Cheryl would sit by idly and allow such an opportunity to humiliate Liam andCelena passed her by. She took her phone out of her pocket, typed quickly on it, tucked it away, andturned to sneer at Celena.

A few moments later, Wasyl strode over, grinning. As soon as he arrived, he greeted Reginald andthe rest of the Stones politely, then sauntered over to Cheryl's side. They exchange knowingglances.
