Chapter 115
Celena looked pale when the group of people ridiculed and insulted her.
She plucked up the courage to look at everyone and said in a loud voice, "Liam said he can get theinvitation, and I believe him. Also, he's not a loser. He's an outstanding man. He's not like what youguys made him out to be. The man I chose is not a useless person."
Upon saying that, she held Liam's arm tightly. She was still a little scared and was shaking a little.However, she still held back her fear and looked right at everyone in the dining room with her headheld high.
The hall fell silent as soon as she said that. Then, they burst out laughing.
Their mockery and disdainful expressions made Celena take half a step back in fear. She was stillholding Liam's arm tightly. The fear and delicate look in her eyes left Liam incredibly heartbroken.
Liam put his other hand over her freezing hands and smiled at her calmly. "Don't be scared. Don'tworry. Trust me."
"Did I hear that right? Did Celena say that the loser is an outstanding person? What part of him isoutstanding? How could she even say that?"
"Well, he is outstanding. Not everybody could just lie through their teeth like he did."
"You're right. I've heard enough jokes to last me for a year today. Not only has he grosslyoverestimated his abilities, but he also lied. If you really could get your hands on the invitation, I'llapologize to both of you. I would even go on my knees."
The group of people kept laughing.
Wasyl, of course, was very happy to see that. He was all high and mighty as he looked at Liam fromhis seat. Then, he pretended to sigh and said, "Oh, Liam. What's the use of all this? Not only areyou humiliating yourself, but you're getting Celena involved as well."
Yafe was furious at Celena. He looked at Liam with a sullen expression, and then he turned back tolook at Celena. With a burning rage, he bellowed, "Enough! Are you not embarrassed enough?Hurry up and get back to your seat."
Qemal held his injured hand and looked at Liam and Celena furiously as he barked, "What anembarrassment! Celena, don't bring shame to the Stone family when you're shameless yourself!"
Sherah was so angry that she could not stop cursing at Celena and Liam. She desperately wantedto tear them into pieces.novelbin
Liam looked at the crowd and forced himself to stay calm. He grabbed his phone from his pocketand made a call. His voice was frosty as he said calmly, "Delivery a truckload of the Max Groupdinner invitations to the Stone Mansion in ten minutes."
He hung up as soon as he said that.
Silent fell upon the dining hall again. All eyes were on Liam.
They were a little stunned by the might Liam exuded when he made the call earlier.
Everybody started to question if what Liam said was actually true.
However, they dismissed the thought in the next second. How could that be possible? Liam was justa soldier who had just been discharged from the army. He was a homeless loser. What connectionscould he have?
Qemal was the first to regain his senses. He pointed at Liam with his uninjured hand and shouted,"You truly are good at being a poser. You actually made a call. Who can you call? Who are youtrying to impress?"
He rushed up to Liam, snatched his phone out of his hand, and smashed it on the ground. AfterLiam's phone was shattered, Qemal stomped on it a few more times with all his might.
