Chapter 884

Bradley nonchalantly pushed aside Logan’s information, diverting his attention to Esther’s personaldetails.

Esther’s father was an undercover DEA agent. He had executed his mission excellently, only to faceretaliation from a criminal group. Fearing reprisal, he had left one of his twin daughters in the countrywhile placing the other with a couple abroad after his wife gave birth.

Tragedy struck when the criminal group murdered Esther’s parents. Billy had adopted Esther, but thetwo sisters had lost contact completely.

As Bradley perused the seamlessly presented information, a sense of unease gnawed at him. TheEsther who had grown up abroad used a different name overseas, despite still being named Esther.

Rubbing his throbbing temples, Bradley spoke in a low tone. “Dylan, arrange for someone toinvestigate her overseas. I need to confirm if there’s actually someone like this.”

“Yes, Mr. Warner,” Dylan replied promptly and left.

Kevin was shocked and speechless. He struggled to comprehend Bradley’s intentions. Even if Dylanconfirmed Esther’s existence or non-existence abroad, would it truly matter?

“Bradley, if she can’t get a kidney transplant, she might only live for another six months.”novelbin

A sinister glint flashed in Bradley’s cold eyes as he brazenly stated, “If she isn’t her, whether she livesor dies has nothing to do with me.”

Baffled, Kevin reconsidered his initial assumptions. He thought Bradley would imprison her again.

“Good luck then, Bradley.”

Kevin was unsure how to communicate with Bradley. He stood up and briskly walked to the door.

As he reached for the handle, Bradley called out coldly, “Stop!”

Kevin turned back, smiled wryly at Bradley, and warned, “This time, I won’t assist you in yourschemes.”

Ever since Esther’s incident, he had been suffering terrible nightmares, regretting being Bradley’saccomplice. If Esther had committed a crime, the law should judge her. Why did Bradley mistreat awoman who loved him so deeply, especially when she was pregnant at the time?

“What’s the success rate for a kidney transplant?”

“If there’s a compatible kidney, the success rate is above 95%, but it varies depending on theindividual,” Kevin answered.

“Take me for the match now!”

Observing Bradley’s worn-out appearance, Kevin hesitated. “Bradley, given your current condition, you’re clearly not suitable for donation… unless you rest properly for a while.”

Bradley had pushed his body to the brink, rendering him ineligible for a transplant until he recovered.

“How long?”

“If your body returns to normal values a week from now, I’ll arrange the match for you,” Kevin stated.

“You can leave now!”

Exiting the hotel, Kevin spotted Dylan entering with a phone in hand.

“Dr. Slade.”

“Dylan, have we met somewhere before?”

Dylan shook his head. “I’m sorry. I don’t seem to recall.”

Kevin walked ahead but glanced back at Dylan, feeling a sense of familiarity without rememberingwhere they had met.

In the hotel room.

Dylan waited until Bradley emerged wearing a silk bathrobe after a shower.

“Mr. Warner, I’ve hired a detective abroad to investigate Ms. Quill’s past.”

Bradley tapped lightly on the marble tabletop, and a peculiar and excited glint flashed in his sinistereyes.

“Dylan, have you found out when Logan’s engagement party will be held?”

After seeing Esther’s familiar face, Bradley’s possessiveness seized all his rationality. He would bindEsther to himself even if it meant being at odds with the world!
