Chapter 78

The cardiac surgeon was taken aback but still fearlessly explained, “Mr. Warner, I can’t speak for otherdoctors, but I’d never do such a thing. Without an organ donation form signed by the person involved,I’d not use her heart to save anyone.”

Bradley’s cold gaze fell on the face of the cardiac surgeon, whose features appeared gentle and kind, with clear and serene eyes.

“I’ll remember what you said today.” Bradley’s tone was indifferent, with a hint of threat. “I don’t wantany medical scandals to happen in my hospital.”

The cardiac surgeon looked at Bradley, who was clutching his heart with a painful expression, andasked in surprise, “Mr. Warner, is your heart feeling unwell?”

Bradley thought about the abnormality in his heart these past few days and subconsciously replied witha faint hum.

“Heart issues can be big or small.” The cardiac surgeon took his stethoscope and approached Bradley.“Would you mind if I listen?”

Bradley did not refuse.

The cardiac surgeon carefully listened to Bradley’s heart with the stethoscope, furrowing his brows andhesitating. Based on the auscultation alone, there seemed to be no issues with his heart.

“To determine if there are any specific problems with the heart, we need to perform a 24-hour dynamicelectrocardiogram monitoring. Mr. Warner, if it’s convenient for you, I suggest you undergo a heart CTscan.”

Upon hearing the cardiac surgeon’s words, Bradley’s heart sank. Could it be that his heart was reallyhaving problems?

Upon noticing the change in Bradley’s expression, the cardiac surgeon quickly explained, “Mr. Warner, please don’t misunderstand. Based on the current examination results, your heart function is normal. To be sure, we’ll have to do other tests.”

Just then, a nurse entered the room and said, “Dr. Holden, Dr. Birch called asking about the results. ofMs. Esther Quill’s heart examination?”

The cardiac surgeon glanced at Bradley and saw his cold gaze intensify upon hearing the keywords“Dr. Birch”, “Esther Quill”, and “examination results”.

Scott Holden, the cardiac surgeon, explained, “Dr. Birch is my senior colleague. He asked me toexamine Esther’s heart as a favor and, in return, allowed me to visit his lab. Both our hospitals arecurrently conducting research on artificial hearts, and it’s said that his research has made significantprogress.”

“Dr. Holden, this matter ends here. Please tell your colleague that Esther’s heart is not something hecan covet!” Bradley stood up, looking down at Scott with a chilling gaze, and said with extreme

coldness, “If any of Esther’s medical information is leaked, I’ll hold you accountable.”

Upon hearing that, Scott quickly assured Bradley. “Mr. Warner, please rest assured. I’d never doanything that violates medical ethics.”

After that, he personally took Bradley to undergo detailed heart examinations.

Half an hour later, they had the results of the other tests except for the 24-hour electrocardiogram -monitoring that had yet to be done.novelbin

Scott carefully went through the results of Bradley’s heart examination page by page, confirming thatthere was no abnormal sign. Then, he asked slowly, “Mr. Warner, may I ask what kind of abnormalities

your heart usually experiences? Is there any specific time, person, or thing that triggers theabnormality?”

Thinking about how his heart only acted up every time something happened to Esther, Bradleywondered if it could be that Esther had put a curse on him.

“It’s a stabbing pain in the heart, and the pain spreads throughout the body…” Bradley lightly spoke ofhis heart’s abnormality.

Scott could not help but examine the data from Bradley’s heart examination again. After a long time, hesoftly said, “Mr. Warner, based on the current examination results, your heart function is normal. As forthe pain in your heart, could it be due to what happened to your wife? Perhaps it’s the result ofexcessive worry affecting your heart…
