Chapter 771

For a moment, Esther’s heart seemed to stop.

“Why not keep acting, Esther? It’s your forte, isn’t it?” Bradley’s words hit Esther hard, affecting herhead and her heart.

“Your acting skills are incredible. You could even compete for an Oscar as the Best Actress. It will be awaste if you don’t.”

Faced with Bradley’s mockery and taunts, Esther stayed silent and merely watched him, waiting to seewhat crazier actions he might take.

“You knew you’d have an allergic reaction, yet you ate something that would trigger it. Did you think I’dhave a change of heart when you were in distress? Did you believe you had a chance of being saved?”

A trace of mockery appeared in Esther’s beautiful eyes as she replied, “Mr. Warner, why would Ientertain such a delusion?”

Hope would be a luxury with a heartless man like him.

“Delusion?” Bradley walked up to Esther, looking down at her with a condescending smile. “Think Iused the wrong words?”

Bradley’s eyes gleamed with malice. “Seems I’ve been too lenient with you, Esther.”

Esther suddenly burst into laughter and covered her face with both hands, tears streaming down intoher hair.

“Shut up!” Bradley demanded.

Esther laughed so hard it hurt her stomach. She looked at Bradley, who appeared somewhat annoyed, and taunted, “Mr. Warner, I suggest you look up ‘kind’ in the dictionary.”

Bradley had repeatedly pushed her into the abyss, yet he had the audacity to claim he had been tookind to her?

“Esther!”novelbin

Esther wiped her tears away and sat up on the bed, fearlessly approaching She asked indifferently,“Mr. Warner, if you’ve said your piece, may I rest now?”

Bradley gazed at Esther, her beauty still striking but with a hint of hostility.

“Esther!”

“Yes?” Esther responded indifferently.

Suddenly, Bradley stared at her delicate neck, grabbed her shoulders, and pushed her against the coldwall. Her back collided with a framed painting on the wall. The corner of the frame dug into her skin, making her wince in pain.

“Your job is to please and make me happy, Esther!”

Esther looked at Bradley’s face, so close to hers. “Is that all?”

“With your acting skills…”

Esther knew Bradley was still resentful of her deception about her memory loss. What had happenedafterward made her reluctant to explain why she had done it.

“Thank you for the compliment, Mr. Warner. My acting skills are decent. But why should I act with you?

“When I discovered that Felix was my son, I naively thought I still loved you. I wanted to leave withFelix.

“I thought that after leaving with Felix, we might not meet again for a long time. As such, I wanted tocreate precious and pleasant, though artificial, memories.”

Esther held Bradley’s chin, trying to distinguish the difference between this Bradley and the innocentyoung man she remembered.

“You and him share the same face, but you’ll never be him,” she said.

Bradley gripped her chin and asked, his voice hoarse and threatening, “Who is he?”
