Chapter 728

Unlike some people who sought help and shared their problems, whether big or small, Esther stoodout. Perhaps it was because she had grown up in a difficult family, where Leah mistreated her, and Billywas a weak-willed man. Growing up, she had learned to rely on herself. She had developed a habit ofdealing with everything independently, no matter how important or trivial.

“Xara, I don’t want to talk right now.” Esther firmly resisted engaging in a conversation with Xara.

Observing Esther’s reluctance, Xara sighed and offered, “Esther, you appeared so content during yourtime abroad. If you’re unhappy here, especially considering Felix’s condition, perhaps it would be betterfor you to go overseas for a change.

Given your relationship with Bradley, staying here could be detrimental to Felix’s recovery.”

Esther lowered her gaze before looking at Xara. Her voice was strained as she asked, “Can Felix becured?”novelbin

“Healing the heart requires more than medicine. Although Felix’s condition seems challenging, it’s nothopeless. But, as a mother, you should understand that if your relationship with Bradley stays as it is,Felix’s condition won’t improve.

“I know your personality, and you’re not someone who simply accepts everything. I’m not sure whatBradley is using as leverage, but I know it’s something very important to you.”

A gruesome image of a blood-soaked severed hand suddenly flashed in Esther’s mind, causing her togag involuntarily.

Xara swiftly poured a glass of water for her and said gently, “Esther, take some water.”

Esther shook her head and calmly stated, “I don’t want to drink.”

“In that case…”

Seeing the concern in Xara’s eyes, Esther felt compelled to share, “My daughters are in Bradley’scontrol.”

Shocked, Xara asked, “Esther, are you certain?”

“Bradley told me so.” Tears welled up in Esther’s beautiful eyes. “Xara, what should I do?”

Esther yearned to resist Bradley’s threats, but she couldn’t. She couldn’t remain indifferent whenevershe thought about her daughters being under his control.

Xara had initially suspected that Bradley was threatening Esther, but she hadn’t anticipated him usingher daughters’ lives as bargaining chips. She stood up and began to pace.

“Esther, have you seen them?” Xara asked.

Esther shook her head.

Seeing that, Xara reasoned, “How can you be sure they’re with Bradley then? Esther, let’s analyze this.Bradley didn’t even know your daughters were his. He hasn’t shown any interest in the twins, right?”

Esther looked at Xara, perplexed.

“Esther…” Xara crossed her arms and continued. “Your emotions are clouding your judgment.”

“What do you mean?” Esther asked.

“By using your children to manipulate you, what is Bradley counting on? He’s relying on yourcompassion! Esther, you need to be stronger when dealing with someone like Bradley,” Xara analyzed.

Esther was about to respond, but Xara interrupted her.

“Remember, Bradley abducted you during the wedding chaos last time. Can he do the same now? Youhave the Quills’ support. If necessary, I’ll get Steffan to assist. I’ll protect you.

“Don’t let Bradley intimidate you. If he threatens you again, consider this: you haven’t laid eyes onthose daughters. Who can prove they’re your children? Unless you’ve seen them and conducted aDNA test yourself, how can you trust Bradley’s claims without this evidence?”
