Chapter 711

The priest’s face lit up with a smile as he gazed at the cross in the main hall.

“I can’t say,” he replied.

Jasper didn’t follow the priest’s gaze. Instead, he looked up at the dark, cloudy sky above.

“I’m an atheist,” Jasper declared. “If she can survive, I’m willing to believe in God.”

The priest said, “Sincerity can move mountains.”

Several hours later, a private plane cut through the stormy clouds and touched down at the airport inthis brutal weather.

Agatha, accompanied by Jacob, Sunshine, and Felix, arrived at the hospital from the airport.

Kevin felt a wave of relief wash over him when he heard Agatha’s footsteps. “Dr. Foster.”

Agatha paid no heed to Kevin and walked directly to Bradley. “Do you want her to live or die?”

Baffled by Agatha’s actions, Kevin nervously asked, “Dr. Foster, let’s discuss this later. Esther’scondition is worse than we expected. Why don’t you check on her first?”

“Kevin,” Agatha called.

Kevin promptly cleared his throat and asked, “Dr. Foster, how can I assist you?”novelbin

Agatha gazed at him with indifference, her heart aching deeply. “Why should I save Esther? Should Iput in all that effort to save her just for Bradley to come and torment her?”

“No, Dr. Foster, Bradley wouldn’t do that.” Kevin gestured toward Bradley, trying earnestly to convey hismessage.

“Grandma Foster…” Felix observed Bradley’s expression, grasped Agatha’s slightly cold hand, andasked innocently, “Is Mommy going to die?”

“Felix, it’s not up to me to decide. It depends on your father.” Agatha had no intention of upholdingBradley’s image as a father in front of Felix.

“Daddy, do you not want Mommy to live?” Felix asked with a worried little face.

“Felix, are you stupid?” Sunshine approached Felix and growled, “If it weren’t for him, nothing wouldhappen to Mommy!”

Felix burst into tears instantly. He looked at Agatha and took a deep breath. “Grandma Foster, I wantMommy to live. Can you… Can you save my Mommy?”

Following Felix’s lead, Sunshine held Agatha’s other hand and pleaded pitifully, “Grandma Foster, please save Mommy!”

Agatha patted Felix and Sunshine’s heads, then asked in a grave tone, “Children, it’s not that I’mheartless and won’t save her, but why should I save her?”

Esther was her apprentice.

Did she want Esther to have an accident?

No.

She also wanted Esther to survive.

But what would happen after she saved Esther?

If Bradley didn’t release her, her efforts would be in vain.

Instead of that, she would leave the choice to Bradley.

“Bradley, it’s your decision!” she stated.

Felix’s tears continued to stream down his face. “Daddy!”

Kevin also gazed at Bradley with immense anxiety. He had just come out of the operating room notlong ago, and he knew better than anyone the gravity of the situation inside. Esther was in gravedanger, and every second counted.

Agatha’s eyes were resolute.

As Esther’s mentor, she couldn’t shield her forever. Esther would eventually have to lead her own life. What kind of life would that be, and who would decide it?

It would be Bradley!
