Chapter 694

Bradley’s intense gaze fixed on Esther as he asked in a deep voice, “What did you call me just now?”

Esther felt a sudden surge of nervousness upon hearing his question. “M-Mr. Warner?”

Was that wrong? Should she have addressed him as “Master”? Or maybe, given his age, she shouldhave simply called him “Sir”?

“Figure it out for yourself,” Bradley replied coldly, taking a seat at the dining table.

Esther had prepared a beautifully presented and mouthwatering dinner.novelbin

While in prison, Esther had attended various courses to improve her post-release employmentprospects. As a woman, she had taken classes in beauty and hairstyling, dessert baking, culinarycuisine, embroidery, and clothing making. Her instructors were experts in their fields.

Maintaining focus and inner peace was relatively easy, with nothing else to do in prison. Esther hadeven witnessed an inmate become an embroidery master’s apprentice after completing the prisoncourse.

Bradley pushed his cutlery toward Esther and instructed, “Taste each dish.”

Esther was momentarily speechless. If Bradley was afraid of her poisoning him, why had he asked herto cook for him in the first place? Regardless, cooking was a welcome change from being confined in acrystal coffin.

“Alright,” Esther replied without hesitation, taking a bite before Bradley. “See? No poison.”

Previously, while imprisoned in the crystal coffin, Esther had survived on sandwiches and hamburgersprepared by the service staff. Now, enjoying a hot meal felt like a surreal experience.

“Fetch another set of utensils.”

Esther glanced at the ones she had used and promptly retrieved another set from the kitchen, placingthem in front of Bradley.

As she turned to leave, Bradley stopped her. “Wait.”

Esther folded her hands before her lower abdomen and asked, “Sir, do you have any furtherinstructions?”

“Do you expect me to peel the shrimp myself?”

Esther feigned an elegant smile and stood beside him, peeling the shrimp and arranging them on aplate.

“This dish is overly salty.

“This one is too spicy.”

After setting down his utensils and wiping his lips with a napkin, Esther remarked, “Alright, Iunderstand, sir.”

Bradley’s gaze shifted to Esther, his tone icy as he stated, “If you serve as a maid effectively, I mayreward you by allowing you to see Felix.”

“Really?” Esther couldn’t believe her ears.

Bradley remained cool. “I’m not like you. I keep my promises.”

Esther clenched her fists, silently cursing him in her heart. Could she truly trust him? He had deceivedher repeatedly and subjected her to endless torment.

Bradley could tell from Esther’s expression that she doubted his words. A cold, mocking smile flickeredin his deep eyes. “Esther, you have no other options.”
