Chapter 68

Bradley angrily asked, “Where is he?”

Cole had graduated with a master’s degree abroad and joined the Warner Group six years ago, becoming Bradley’s special assistant. They had spent the most time together.

Cole was exceptionally capable, and Bradley trusted him with many tasks, knowing that they would bewell taken care of. Cole was quick-witted and efficient, not only completing the assigned workexcellently but also being well-liked by everyone in the company.

Bradley never expected that the person who was full of energy and vitality yesterday would suddenlydisappear today without a trace!

“The driver involved in the accident is currently with the criminal investigation department.”

Bradley’s cold gaze fell on the rescue team, searching diligently for Cole on the river’s surface.

“Each person participating in the rescue will receive $150,000 as compensation, and the person findsCole will receive an additional $1,500,000!” Bradley took a few steps away, then turned back andinstructed his secretary through his gritted teeth, “If Cole’s alive, I want to see him. If he’s dead, I wantto see his body too. Put aside all your current tasks and prioritize Cole’s personal safety.”

Bradley was filled with anger as he arrived at the criminal investigation unit. The driver involved in theaccident immediately knelt before Bradley and repeatedly slapped his own face.

“I’m sorry, I’m not human! I shouldn’t have drunk and driven! Why isn’t it me who died?”

The investigators were also worried that Bradley would have a violent confrontation with the driver andcause a disturbance leading to casualties, so they stopped Bradley, who was full of rage.

“Mr. Warner, let me explain the case to you.”novelbin

They could not afford to handle the case carelessly since it involved a major taxpayer in the city.

Bradley looked deeply at the driver’s face and memorized it in his mind.

“Was it an accident, or was it intentional?”

The investigator said, “We investigated the driver’s activities before the incident. During the day, heworked as a ride-hailing driver. This morning, his son received an acceptance letter from Chini NationalUniversity, and he was very happy. They had dinner at the well-known Octahouse in the city, and hehad a few drinks to celebrate his son’s achievement.

“When the family was about to return home, he received a call from a friend asking him to cover a shiftdue to an emergency. At first, he refused, but later, considering that his son needed money for

university, he agreed.

“He might have taken a chance, thinking that there were no traffic police conducting checks for drunkdriving during that time period, so he took a risk for the money and ran into what happened

next.”

Bradley’s initial thought was whether it was revenge from a business rival. He furrowed his brow andasked, “Did he or his family receive a large sum of money through a bank transfer?”

The investigator replied, “According to our investigation, they didn’t receive any large transfers ofmoney.”

The investigator could not help but sigh inwardly. The driver’s son’s biggest dream was to become amilitary officer, but now his dream was destined to be shattered. One instance of drunk driving changed

his son’s life forever.

“Keep investigating,” said Bradley.

After leaving the criminal investigation unit, Bradley immediately called the company’s legal departmentand asked them to closely monitor the case. He made it clear that the driver involved must pay theappropriate price.

After the call, Bradley looked at the DNA test documents in the car and glanced at Cole’s phone. Hereached out and picked up the test results, flipping through their contents.

The names were Q and X.

He turned to the last page, reading the final conclusion-the two individuals were biologically mother andson.
