Chapter 659

Accompanied by her maid of honor, Mandy descended the red carpet with measured steps.

At the end of the carpet, Chadwick awaited her, dressed splendidly in a traditional groom attire. Hisgaze remained fixed on Mandy, who looked elegant in her antique lace veil and flowing gown.

With eagerness, Chadwick moved closer to accept Mandy’s hand from the maid of honor. Confusioncrossed his face as his eyes shifted to the apple she held.

‘Didn’t I eat an apple in the car? Why does Esther have another one?’ he thought.

In the audience, Selene’s curiosity piqued as she observed the couple on stage. Just then, a staffmember from the wedding company approached her, whispering, “Madam Pendleton, Ms. Pendletonhas disappeared.”

Selene frowned. “And what about Mr. Warner?”

Before the woman could reply, the sky erupted with fireworks, and the air filled with the smell ofgunpowder.

“We can’t reach Mr. Warner on his phone either,” the head of the wedding planner murmured.

Selene’s gaze returned almost instantly to the stage, where Mandy still stood under her antique laceveil. The ceremony was on the verge of commencing, steeped in age-old traditions.novelbin

Disregarding the puzzled looks from the guests, Selene rose abruptly and made her way onto thestage. “Stop the wedding!”

Chadwick frowned and retorted, “Mom, this is my wedding! Can you not cause a scene?”

“The wedding is off.”

Selene couldn’t risk voicing her suspicion that the veiled bride might be Mandy, not Esther, in front ofChadwick and all the guests.

Unmasking Mandy would turn their entire family into a laughingstock.

After all, instead of marrying Esther, the Quill heiress, Chadwick would end up marrying his half-sister,Mandy.

“Mom, stop being ridiculous!”

Chadwick’s grip on Selene’s arm tightened, causing her pain. She responded by slapping him squarelyacross the face.

“I’ve thought long and hard about it, and I’ve never felt Esther is worthy of my son!” she said.

Oliver and Marcus, both in the audience, exchanged puzzled glances upon witnessing the unfoldingdrama on stage.

Marcus decided to take preemptive action against the Pendletons. Meanwhile, Oliver had alreadydispatched someone to locate Bradley. As per the wedding plan, Bradley and Mandy should be makingtheir entrance soon.

Soon enough, Sadie approached Oliver and urgently whispered, “We can’t find Bradley and Mandyanywhere.”

Oliver suddenly understood why Selene was at the center of the stage.

Confusion rippled through the guests, each silently pondering, ‘What on earth is happening?’

Oliver suspected that the bride might be Mandy. However, he had no intention of removing her, asSelene desired.

“Madam Pendleton, you’ve had ample opportunities to voice objections to this wedding. Why create ascene now? Do you doubt the Quills’ determination?” Oliver asked.

Selene glared at Oliver. She refused to disbelieve that he seemed unaware of the situation involvingEsther and Bradley.

“Oliver, why should my son’s first marriage be to a woman incapable of bearing children?” she asked.
