Chapter 645

Esther sat in Clark’s car, thinking about Jolene’s threat. She had warned that she would take off withthe child if Esther spoke the truth.

Esther found Jolene’s naivety amusing. She had already told Jolene that only people who genuinelycared about her would be interested in her well-being. Bradley was a prime example. He had nevercared about Esther—her happiness or misery meant nothing to him.

Maybe it was a case of “birds of a feather”, but Esther didn’t want Jolene to endure what she hadduring her pregnancy.

“Mommy, Grandpa Clark said Sunshine and Jacob are coming. Is that true?” Felix asked.

“Yeap!” Esther smiled at Felix, who was securely buckled into his safety seat beside her. “Are youexcited?”

“I’m super happy.” Felix was an obedient and adorable child.

He spotted a fancy boutique outside the car window and said, “Mommy, can we get gifts for Jacob andSunshine?”

“Absolutely.”

Since Felix hadn’t grown up with Esther, she always tried to spoil him. After all, he was her own child. As a mother, it was only natural to want to indulge him.

Esther held Felix’s hand as they entered the boutique. It was filled with exquisite gifts. Felix’s eyes lit upwhen he spotted a sun-shaped ornament.

“Mommy, I want to give this to Sunshine!” Felix pointed at the cute sun ornament with excitement.

“You’ve got great taste.” Esther turned to the sales assistant and said, “Could you show us that sunornament, please? Thank you.”

The sales assistant had been engrossed in her phone and didn’t pay much attention to Esther andFelix’s entrance. She replied indifferently. “This ornament is quite expensive. You probably can’t affordit.”

Felix puffed up his little chest and declared, “Who says I can’t afford it? I’m super rich!”

“Quit boasting! You’re just a kid. You can’t possibly be rich!” the sales assistant retorted impatiently.novelbin

Her game had ended due to that retort. She slammed her phone on the table and arrogantly said, “Weonly sell this sun and star ornament as a set.”

“So, there’s another star-shaped ornament?”

The sales assistant glanced at Esther. She wore plain clothes without any branded logos and didn’tseem like a wealthy customer. She assumed Esther couldn’t afford the expensive ornament.

“Show us the star one, too,” Esther requested. She felt the sales assistant’s condescension but chosenot to react in front of Felix.

“This set costs 500,000.”

“500,000 pesos?” Felix asked with curiosity.

“Do you think that’s possible?” the sales assistant said as she retrieved the star ornament, which wasthe same size as the sun ornament and impeccably crafted.

“I’ll take both of these ornaments. Please put them in gift boxes,” Esther said.

The sales assistant sneered, “Are you sure?”

“Of course.”

The sales assistant smirked and sarcastically asked, “How are you planning to pay?”

Just as Esther was about to say “by card”, Jasper suddenly appeared out of nowhere and stood beforethe sales assistant. He asked sternly, “Is this how you treat customers?”

“Sir… Mr. Searle…” The sales assistant was taken aback by Jasper’s unexpected presence in theshop.

Felix raised his chubby little face and curiously asked, “Uncle Jasper, is this your store?”
