Chapter 553

Chapter 553novelbin

Esther’s reddened eyes brimmed with tears upon hearing that, and she struggled to breathe as sheexclaimed, “You’re not

human! You’re a devil.”

Chadwick laughed, shamelessly replying, “Thank you for the compliment.”

Esther took a deep breath and seriously thought back to the message she had deleted. She had onlyseen a bloody severed hand, but she had not carefully examined whether it belonged to Bradley or not.Naturally, she could not trust Chadwick’s

words alone.

“I want to personally confirm if that hand belongs to him.”

Chadwick whistled smugly. “I shall generously allow you to confirm it in person then.”

He hung up with a loud click.

On Esther’s end, the beeping sound from the phone sounded like someone was hammering her heartheavily.

She forced herself to calm down, intending to verify the truth of Chadwick’s claim. However, she feltthat it would be better to go to the detention center tomorrow rather than asking someone else forconfirmation.

Hearsay was not as reliable as seeing with her own eyes.

That night, Esther tossed and turned.

At some point, she finally fell asleep but was awakened by terrifying nightmares filled with blood andgore. Instead, she decided not to sleep and put on a knitted sweater to stroll in the hospital garden.

She was well aware Chadwick did not really appreciate her or love her. He merely wanted to regain hisdignity since Bradley

had shamed him.

She shouldn’t panic at this moment. She could negotiate with Chadwick because her marriage withBradley wasn’t officially over. Regardless of Chadwick’s attitude, he had to consider how this situationwould affect his father. He couldn’t marry a married woman.

Esther started to come up with a plan.

The morning in Capitus was chilly. Esther took a deep breath and grabbed her phone. She was aboutto call Chadwick but

decided to call Kevin instead.

“Kevin, it’s me.”

Kevin had a bit to drink last night and still felt groggy like he hadn’t fully woken up. He asked, “Esther, what’s going on?”

Esther hesitated briefly and gently said, “Kevin, can you test me for organ donation?”

“Esther, are you serious?”

Esther’s request snapped Kevin awake. He never expected her to be willing to give up her life forBradley.

“Kevin, it’s so we can find an alternative if my liver can’t be a match for Bradley. Can you just watch himdie?”

Kevin sighed deeply, his voice unsure. “Is it the right thing to do?”

“Kevin, it’s not about what’s right or wrong. I just want him to live.”

“Alright,” Kevin agreed. “I’ll come over today for the testing.”

Kevin realized that by not completing the tissue typing for Esther, she would continue to worry, whichwasn’t beneficial for

her recovery. It was best to take care of it. Regardless of the outcome, it would help ease Esther’sconcerns.

“Thank you, Kevin,” Esther expressed her gratitude. “When can we begin?”

“I’ll prepare and come over right away,” Kevin replied.
