Chapter 547

Chapter 547

Bradley had cancer. Esther had to find out where her daughter was. As a mother, she was determinedto locate her.

Bradley immediately realized the meaning behind Esther’s words. Thinking about Esther’s earlierattempts to please him, he felt a lump in his throat. “Do you want to know?”

Esther nodded frantically.

Bradley sneered. “I’ll tell you where she is when you become pregnant with my child again!”

“But I just had a miscarriage!”

Esther knew that having another pregnancy so soon after a miscarriage was not advisable, evenwithout medical knowledge. Agatha had mentioned her poor health, and if she did not take proper care, she could face the risk of another miscarriage. Frequent miscarriages could lead to complications.

Bradley shot Esther a disdainful glance and taunted, “You can leave now!”

He left the visitor’s room, leaving Esther despairing and in tears. She cried for a while before gatheringthe strength to leave.

Kevin, worried about Esther, rushed to her when he saw her. He asked, concerned, “Esther, why areyou bleeding? Did he hurt you again?”

Thinking of Bradley’s mistreatment, Esther blushed slightly. She forced herself to speak despite thediscomfort in her throat. “It’s not my blood.”

“Is it his blood?” Kevin exclaimed.novelbin

Esther nodded.

Kevin had just convinced himself he wouldn’t concern himself with Bradley’s well-being any longer. However, upon noticing blood on Esther, he couldn’t help but worry that Bradley might be facing amedical emergency.

Without hesitation, he swiftly called Jonathan to check on Bradley’s medical parole application status.

“Kevin, they won’t release him from jail. I heard that the Pendletons and Quills are putting pressure onthis.

Kevin felt an immense headache. He rubbed his temples and asked, “Alright, I understand. Can youplease get more details?”

“Sure.”

Esther asked anxiously, “What did the lawyer say?”

Kevin replied, “The lawyer said Bradley can’t be released on medical parole for now.”

“What should we do? His condition is so serious…”

Kevin reassured, “Esther, you don’t have to worry about these things. Focus on taking care of your ownhealth. Leave the rest to me.”

Esther momentarily fell silent. “What if I ask my uncle for help?” she asked.

“Esther!” Kevin reminded her with a slightly cold tone, “The Quills are doing this to vent their anger onyour behalf. You can’t intervene. The Quills are your family, and they have acknowledged you. Youcan’t let them down over him.

“It’s better to have someone protect you than not, Esther. Do you understand what I mean?”

Esther clearly understood the meaning behind Kevin’s words. However, she still could not help butthink about informing her uncles.

Bradley was Felix’s father and a patient. His extended stay in jail was not a long-term solution.

After Esther and Kevin left the detention center, a man in black intercepted their path. “Ms. Quill, Mr.Pendleton has requested your presence.”

Kevin immediately stood before Esther and replied, “Tell Mr. Pendleton we don’t want to see him.” “Mr.Slade, Mr. Pendleton wants to see Ms. Quill, not you.”
