Chapter 523

Chapter 523

Upon hearing the phone’s beep, Kevin took a deep breath. He hadn’t foreseen Esther assuming he andBradley were

orchestrating another dramatic act. Yet, on second thought, he realized her perspective wasunderstandable given the tense circumstances.

Kevin wanted to call Esther again and clarify Bradley’s condition. However, he realized his number hadbeen blocked too.

“Dr. Slade, Mr. Warner’s test report is out.”

Kevin’s secretary handed him Bradley’s test report, her expression grim.

Upon seeing her troubled face, Kevin’s expression also turned serious. He carefully flipped throughBradley’s report page by page, and then he asked in a shaky voice, “Liver cancer?”

“Yes, based on the report, it does seem to be liver cancer.”

Kevin was shocked. He stammered, “But his medical examination last year showed no issues. Howcould he suddenly have liver cancer?”

Bradley was so young, and his health had always been excellent. How could he end up with livercancer?

“Dr. Slade, treating Mr. Warner’s liver cancer isn’t difficult. The real difficulty lies in his head’s…”novelbin

Kevin reexamined the report and sank into his chair.

The news of Bradley’s illness left him stunned, his mind blank. It took him a while to collect himself andstart making calls to doctors he knew.

The entire afternoon, Kevin made numerous calls… until there was a knock on the door, and thesecretary entered.

“Dr. Slade, Mr. Warner has woken up and wants to see you.”

Kevin replied hoarsely, “Okay.”

He stepped into the bathroom and turned on the tap, splashing cold water on his face. Gathering hiscourage, he made his way into Bradley’s hospital room.

Bradley sat on the bed, his white hair tousled, his face carrying an inexplicable sadness. “Kevin, havemy test results come out?

Kevin gestured gently toward Bradley’s hair, saying, “Bradley, your hair looks quite nice today.”

Bradley grabbed a pillow and threw it at Kevin. “Cut the nonsense. What’s wrong with me?”

Kevin suppressed his sorrow and chuckled. “What could possibly be wrong with you? If anything, itmight just be lovesickness!”

“Kevin, do I appear foolish to you?” Bradley’s gaze sharpened, his lips tinged with a faint purple hue.

“Your intellect surpasses mine by miles!” Kevin bent over to pick up the pillow, pretending to remaincalm and composed, and sat down by Bradley’s bedside. “It’s just a bit of blood in your vomit. You’vebeen drinking heavily since last night. Who else would do that but you?”

Bradley scoffed.

‘How absurd,’ he thought, his icy gaze locked onto Kevin and his rather awkward performance.

Kevin didn’t dare to confront Bradley’s stare head-on. Instead, he feigned interest in the contents ofBradley’s IV bag and discreetly glanced at his phone.

In a chat group he had recently joined, someone had posted updates about Esther.

Kevin couldn’t help but read the message.

“What? The Quills are organizing a reunion event for Esther? And it’s happening at the Royal PalaceHotel?!” Kevin exclaimed.

Before he could finish his sentence, Bradley snatched his phone and immediately saw the news.
