Chapter 52

Pixie? Why did he have no recollection of it?

Bradley was extremely frustrated and annoyed. He pulled out a box of cigarettes and lit one up by hislips. The flickering flame danced in front of him.

He then took his phone to call Cole.

“Cole, I want all the video material from that hotel from five years ago.’

“Yes, Mr. Warner.”

“Everything.”novelbin

“I understand.”

Bradley went through stick after stick of cigarettes. The air reeked of cigarette smoke, and he wasbarely aware of it.

He let himself loose and dove into the reminiscence of five years ago, trying to seek the smallest cluefrom the sealed memories.

It was all in vain. He had no impression of being together with Esther five years ago.

He only remembered his head becoming heavy after his grandfather passed him a glass of wine. Whenhe opened his eyes again, the person lying next to him was Liliane.

As a man, he would not reach the extent of not being able to distinguish if he had done anything.

It was also after the video of Esther being exposed that he knew she had conspired with hisgrandfather to give him a “special” wine. The unexpected coincidence had fulfilled Liliane’s wishinstead and caused Esther to suffer the consequences.

The memories of five years ago were not wonderful,

If it were not for this DNA paternity test, Bradley would have wished never to mention the “shame” offive years ago again.

Clark stood at the door and knocked gently.

Considering Felix’s health, Bradley had never smoked in front of him. He instinctively extinguished hiscigarette when he heard the knock and turned on the ventilation system to circulate the smoke out ofthe room before clearing his throat.

“Come in.”

Clark entered the room. He saw the ashtray on the table at a glance but did not stop Bradley fromsmoking.

“Mr. Bradley, Mr. Felix wants to see the stars. Can I take him to the rooftop for it?”

Bradley looked deeply at Clark, reminding him, “It’s cold outside. Be careful not to let Felix spend toolong there.”

“Okay.” Clark took a few steps before he turned back, looking at Bradley, who was on the verge oflosing control, and said with a serious tone, “Mr. Bradley, I think if Mr. Thomas knew, he’d want you tobe friends, not enemies.”

Bradley remained silent, sitting quietly like a sculpture under the lamp.

Clark gently closed the door and took Felix to the rooftop.

There was no one there. The night breeze blew gently, and the stars sparkled.

Felix looked around cautiously, made sure that no one else was on the rooftop, and then handed overthe pen recorder he had been hiding to Clark. “Grandpaw Clark, I suspect that I am not Mommy’s son.
