The servants rushed into the dressing room, removing their uniforms without a second thought.

Bradley sat beneath a dazzling crystal chandelier, captivated by pictures of Esther and Jasper, his eyesrevealing a deep longing. Esther looked stunning in every photo, her jet-black hair flowing gently, herlively eyes sparkling like a galaxy of stars.
Bradley’s anger flared when he saw the nine roses of different colors in Esther’s hands, making it hardto breathe.

Felix tilted his head, innocence in his eyes. “Adapt to what?”
“To the kite in his hands suddenly breaking free and soaring into a wider sky.”
“But Mommy, kites belong in the sky, right?”
“Yes!” Esther lovingly brushed her forehead against Felix’s, her eyes filled with affection.” Kites belongin the sky, and Felix belongs with Mommy!”

Esther then played games with Felix to ease the impact of Bradley’s earlier outburst.

Bradley glanced at Kevin with a distant expression. Kevin was dressed casually and seemed tired.
Bradley sneered and said, “Are you here to watch a spectacle?”
“Brad, Esther asked me to come and take you with me,” Kevin said as he sat beside Bradley, sippinghis black coffee.
With a slightly irritated tone, he continued. “I’ve been in surgery for 14 straight hours today.” I’mexhausted and sleep-deprived. I’ll only ask you this. Why are you sitting here? Do you want to winEsther back? Or can’t you bear to leave Felix?”
