Chapter 432

Chapter 432

The law was not an umbrella for the upper class. As a legal practitioner, Benz had left the legal industryprecisely because he had witnessed the darkness within it. Now, he wanted to fight for the law-forjustice.

“I’ll be waiting for your good news.”

Esther was determined to leave and return to her country. After contemplating for a while, she sent atext message to Alice.

Perhaps Alice was still working as the message remained unanswered. Esther did not dwell on it andinstead called Xara again.

“Xara.”

Xara looked out of the window at the blue sky and white clouds, feeling incredibly tormented. Esther, how are you? Is Pixie okay?”

Xara didn’t anticipate her first friend upon returning to her home country to be in a similar situation.Esther had faked amnesia, and being a psychologist, Xara could have revealed her act. Yet, she didn’t,maybe seeing herself in Esther’s actions.

“Three DNA tests confirmed Pixie isn’t my daughter,” Esther shared, accompanied by a self-deprecating laugh. “Xara, now I see why Bradley doesn’t care about Pixie. He’s known the truth for awhile. He despises me, finding joy in my suffering. He aims to control me forever, denying me a life ofmy own.”

Esther’s words left Xara feeling powerless, resonating with her own struggles. She whispered, pained,“Esther, maybe this is our destiny. No matter how we flee, regardless of the distance, we’ll reluctantly

find our way back to them one day.”

There was a faint touch of bitterness in Esther’s red eyes. Crystal tears swirled in them. “Xara, should Inot have told you that Jacob is sick?” she asked hoarsely.novelbin

“No.” Xara shook her head, her eyes filled with despair. “Esther, please don’t think that way. Jacob ismy son. I admit I haven’t been the best mother. Even though I left him for my own freedom, I still wanthim to lead a healthy life. I can’t bear the thought of regretting everything if I were to discover the truthlater.”

Xara had never thought that Jacob would not do well in the Sandersons. She believed Jacob couldhave anything he wanted as long as he wished for it.

Meanwhile, she had been avoiding reality, like an ostrich hiding its head in the sand.

It wasn’t until Esther’s call that she realized she, too, was holding onto something in this world. It washer strongest emotional tie to the world. She despised Steffan, but what was Jacob’s fault in all of this?

“I’ll be waiting for you at the Sandersons,” Esther said.

Xara replied, “Alright.”

Esther and Anna soon reached the Sandersons’ residence. The moment they arrived, a mald Informedthem that Steffan awalted Esther in the garden.

This news surprised Esther, but she followed the maid to the garden.

Steffan possessed captivating eyes akin to tranquil azure lakes. When his gaze met Esther’s, theserene blue waters transformed into a vibrant and shimmering display.

“Ms. Quill, did you inform Xara about Jacob’s illness?” he inquired.

Esther asked, mildly astonished, “Mr. Sanderson, are you aware that Xara and I know each other?”
