That was the first time Felix had shown such an expression, and Esther tenderly hugged him whilesoftly comforting him, saying, “It’s okay, Felix. The spider was fake”
Despite this, Felix continued to tremble with fear.
Anna, holding Sunshine’s hand, approached Felix and Esther apologetically. “Sunshine has alwaysliked various animals and plants, but they’re all fake.”
Noticing Felix’s fear, Esther suggested, “Why don’t we head home first, Anna?”
“Okay.”
Normally, Felix would be excited, looking out the window on the way to the church school However, hesat quietly in his booster seat without making a fuss or crying on the journey back.
Sunshine sat in her booster seat, supporting her chin and observing Felix curiously She had onlyplayed a small prank on Felix and had no idea he would be so easily scared. “Hey, I’m sorry!” Sunshineapologized to Felix, feeling embarrassed.
Felix coldly snorted, turned his head, and looked out the window at the scenerynovelbin
Sunshine took out the toy spider and played with it in her hand. She tugged at its legs and whisperedsoftly, “This is the Brazilian Wandering Spider, the most venomous species in the world…”
Sunshine tried to get Felix’s attention, but he wasn’t interested.
After a while, Sunshine found her own performance boring and stopped talking. She played with her toyspider in silence.
Esther glanced at Felix through the rearview mirror, not overly worried since he seemed i despite notwanting to talk.
Upon reaching the castle, Felix reached out his hand, wanting to be held by Esther.
Sunshine watched as Esther carried Felix into the castle, feeling a bit envious of the warm
scene.
“Mommy, can we go to the room?” Felix asked.
After informing Anna, Esther took Felix and went to her bedroom.
“Are you still scared, Felix?”
Felix sat on the terrace outside the room and gently shook his head. “I’m not afraid of spiders.
Esther asked in surprise, “If you’re not afraid of spiders, then what are you afraid of
Felix leaned close to Esther’s ear and whispered softly, “I saw the bad men who kishspeed us earlier,Mommy!”
Esther exclaimed, “Where did you see them?”
“At Sunshine’s church school. The man who made the phone call was holding a little girl.”
Esther tightly held Felix’s little hand, her eyes filled with concern. She anxiously thought about how sheand Felix had been kidnapped to the island by Shane’s people and had discovered another groupengaged in a shady organ trade business.
Although she was later rescued, Felix went missing again. Esther was unaware of the organ tradesince it had been kept hidden.
“Don’t be afraid, Felix. Mommy is here.”
Esther tightly pressed her lips together, nervously considering whether Anna was aware of theproblems at the church school.
‘If the church school does indeed have issues, then Sunshine and Twinkle aren’t safe there. Should Ilet Anna adopt them both instead?”
“Mommy, why haven’t the police arrested those bad men?”
Despite being intelligent, Felix didn’t understand that the police needed evidence to solve a
case.
Arresting someone without evidence would only lead to their release.
“Felix, the law will punish people like them one day.” Esther reached out and embraced Felix’sshoulder, praising him gently. “You were amazing today, Felix, for not letting the bad man notice you.”
