The nurses noticed Liam’s madness and quickly rushed to pull him away from Liliane. Instead ofintervening, the production staff held their cameras to capture all the chaos for publicity’s sake.
Suddenly, Liam fell heavily to the floor with a loud ‘bang’, blood pouring from the back of his head.
The fight came to an abrupt end, with Liam injured and Liliane fainting in fright.
Esther sat on a chair on the terrace, enjoying the food the housekeeper brought. She found herself ona deserted island, surrounded by darkness, with only the sound of waves crashing against the rocks.
The sea breeze brushed through her long hair as if breaking invisible shackles. She inhaled the air offreedom, feeling the gentle sea breeze, and a sense of ease and pleasure enveloped her entire being.
“Ms. Quill, there’s a video call from Mr. Searle,” the housekeeper informed, turning on the tablet andplacing it in front of Esther.
Esther looked at Jasper’s face on the screen and asked with concern, “Jasper, has Bradley caused anytrouble for you?”
“He doesn’t believe you’re dead and thinks I’ve hidden you,” Jasper replied, sitting on a sofa in thebedroom, clad in a bathrobe. “I must admit, he’s quite smart.”
Esther’s tone turned cold as she replied, “He just can’t stand a pet defying his orders!”
Esther couldn’t help but think that if Bradley were truly smart, he wouldn’t have fallen for Liliane’s tricks.
“I don’t care what he thinks, but I might not be able to come and see you for now,” Jasper saidseriously. “I’m afraid Bradley might have someone tracking me.”novelbin
“Jasper, I’ve caused you trouble again,” Esther expressed her guilt.
Deep down, she was worried that Bradley would hold Jasper responsible for her actions.
Jasper laughed heartily. “Silly girl, your matters are never trouble for me.”
A tinge of bitterness welled up within Esther as she asked, “When can I go abroad?”
She longed to go overseas to find Pixie. She wanted to be reunited with her daughter. After losing Felixand Tinkerbell, she couldn’t bear the thought of losing Pixie again.
“A man named Oliver Quill contacted me today, Esther. He claims to be your mother’s older brother,”Jasper shared, seeking Esther’s opinion.
Speaking in a low voice, he continued. “He wants to meet you. I wanted to ask for your thoughts first. Ifyou want to meet him, I can give him your location, and he will come to see you directly.”
Esther had been under the impression that Faye had no other relatives in this world, only to
discover now that she had a family. Did this mean she wouldn’t be alone anymore?
“For now, I’d prefer not to meet him. I don’t want to bring trouble to them,” Esther replied.
Jasper laughed heartily and expressed deep concern “Esther, when will you change your habit ofalways considering others first? Let me tell you, Oliver has influence in Capitus. Bradley may bewealthy, but do you know what kind of place Capitus is? The Quills not only have wealth but alsopower. If you return to the Quills, you won’t have to secretly go abroad. No matter how arrogant Bradleyis, he won’t dare challenge the Quills with the Warner Group at stake.”
Esther didn’t fully grasp the intricacies of these matters and anxiously asked, “So, it’s an establishedwealthy family versus a newly rich one?”
“You could say that,” Jasper playfully teased. “Esther, don’t forget about me if you return to the Quills!!
“But what if I’m not a Quill?” Esther asked, her anxiety apparent.
Jasper looked at Esther on the screen, her hair fluttering in the sea breeze. There was a colddetachment in her makeup-free face.
