Chapter 282

Chapter 282

Standing silently by Bradley’s side, Kevin was at a loss for words on how to console him. Together, theystood, feeling the sea breeze and lost in their thoughts.

After a while, Bradley spoke slowly, his voice filled with uncertainty. “Is there any way to replicateanother Felix?”

“Bradley…” Kevin met Bradley’s earnest gaze and hesitated before responding, “Cloning might be apossibility, but… any Felix created through technology would be a fake unless we find the real Felix.”

The rescue operation came to an end, and the personnel involved gradually departed from the vastsea.

As the decision-maker of the Warner Group, Bradley generously rewarded each member involved inthenovelbin

rescue.

Despite the calmness of the sea, Bradley’s heart remained restless. He gazed at the area where Felixhad fallen, his deep eyes tinged with a haunting crimson.

Suddenly, Bradley’s phone blared with an alarm. He quickly picked it up and opened the alerting app, only to discover Billy using a chainsaw to cut the iron chain binding Esther.

‘Esther Quill! What are you trying to do? Do you want to escape?

‘You’re not allowed to go anywhere without my permission!”

“Watch out, Esther.”

Originally, Billy intended to seek help from Jasper, but unable to reach him, he resorted to buying achainsaw to cut the chain himself.

The buzzing sound of the chainsaw filled Esther’s ears. She tilted her head slightly, exposing hergraceful neck, her beautiful eyes glancing toward the ceiling camera. She knew her chances of escapewere slim, but she had to try.

She would never regret falling in love with Bradley. The butterflies she felt when they first met as youngteenagers would forever be etched in her heart. However, from this point forward, she could no longerlove him.

‘Grandpa Thomas, I’m sorry for breaking my promise. I won’t stay by his side any longer.

‘Life is long, and we can only accompany each other for a certain distance. We may meet at acrossroads and have a brief encounter, or we may walk together for a while, but eventually, we mustpart ways and pursue our own paths.”

Billy looked at the severed iron chain, feeling a sense of satisfaction. “Esther, it’s done. I’ll take you tofind a locksmith now.”

“Okay.” Esther stood up and gathered her documents.

She took one last look at the grand Warner Manor, resolute in her decision, and got into Billy’s car. Billycontinued speaking, “Esther, Bradley holds significant power in this city. I suggest you leave the countryimmediately.”

In Billy’s view, if Bradley discovered that Esther had escaped, he would undoubtedly do everythingpossible to capture her and bring her back as soon as possible.

“Okay.”

As the car drove along the road, leaving the manor behind, tall pine forests lined the sides, creating aserene and verdant scenery.

Suddenly, the loud sound of a helicopter grew closer.

Billy realized that Bradley was catching up, and his face turned pale as he instinctively pressed hard onthe accelerator.

With a loud bang, the car collided against a tall pine tree trunk, and thick smoke billowed from beneaththe hood.
