Chapter 274

Chapter 274

“Esther, be good. Don’t force me! Understand?”

Liliane’s physical condition was extremely poor. Even Scott, a renowned cardiac surgeon, knew thateach day Liliane managed to survive was like snatching luck from the clutches of the Grim Reaper.

Uncertainty crept into Billy’s mind when he saw the photo of Liliane standing with Shane, despite hisinsistence that Liliane was his daughter.

A nurse, holding a lab report, approached Billy and said, “Bed 48, your test results are here.”

Taking the lab report, Billy struggled to understand the meaning behind the numbers. Before the nurseleft, he quickly asked, “Miss, why did I have diarrhea?”

The nurse looked puzzled and replied, “Didn’t you take the laxatives yourself? Even if you wereconstipated, you shouldn’t take random medication!”

Billy clutched the lab report, a sudden realization striking him as he recalled the glass of milk Leah hadbrought him that morning.

At that time, he had been immersed in the joy of Liliane’s wedding and had failed to notice Leah’ssubtle actions.

‘Why did Leah do that?

‘Was it because she didn’t want me to attend the wedding, so she gave me diarrhea?

‘Did she intentionally sabotage me to make way for Shane?’

Fury burned within Billy’s heart, prompting him to contact a lawyer and confront Leah.

When Leah heard someone had come to see her, she assumed it was Shane. In an effort to maintain afavorable image in front of him, she purposely made herself look slightly pitiful.

She harbored no fear regarding the incident. Even if she ended up in prison, Shane would take care ofeverything. It would only be a temporary change of residence, with the loss of freedom as the soledifference.

Billy sat in the meeting room, his gaze fixed on the entrance. He didn’t miss the fleeting disappointmentin Leah’s eyes.

“Leah, were you disappointed when you saw me instead of Shane?” Billy asked, his tone sharp.

Leah was caught completely off guard by Billy’s question. She defensively raised her voice. Whatnonsense are you talking about!?”

“Someone informed me that Liliane is Shane’s daughter.” Billy’s eyes glinted with venomous intensity.“Tell me, should I believe it?”

Leah was rendered speechless by Billy’s revelation. Without a trace of guilt, she questioned,

Did Esther tell you? What is she up to? Don’t you know–”

“Before coming here, I conducted a DNA paternity test with Liliane,” Billy interjected.novelbin

Leah fell silent, realizing that the truth had been exposed.

Contemplating the Anstey Group shares that had been transferred to Liliane’s name under the guise ofa wedding gift, Leah boldly admitted, “Yes, Shane is Liliane’s biological father, and you’re her adoptivefather. Both of you are Liliane’s fathers. Is there a conflict between the two?”

“Leah, I married you back then because you told me you were carrying my child!” Billy thundered withanger.

Leah leaned back in her chair, no longer pretending, and looked at Billy contemptuously. In a cuttingtone, she said, “Anstey, take a look in the mirror. Are you worthy of me?”
