Chapter 256

Bradley gritted his teeth fiercely, his voice seething with anger.novelbin

Liliane’s thoughts of Bradley’s heartlessness during the wedding infuriated her, causing her eyes to turnred. She pointed at Bradley and Esther, mocking them, “Mr. Warner, I have let you down, haven’t I? Ididn’t end up in jail after all!”

Fortunately, Shane’s connections helped secure Liliane’s release from the detention center on bail formedical treatment. Otherwise, she would have been forced to stay in that dreadful place where no onewould want to be.

“Liliane Anstey, who removed Grandpa’s oxygen mask?” Bradley cut to the chase, his tone icy anddevoid of warmth.

Liliane reclined against the soft pillow at the head of the bed, casually glancing at Esther with amalicious smile in her eyes. She sneered. “What’s the matter? Do you want to continue yourrelationship with her? But you’re afraid that she’s the one who killed your grandfather, and you can’tovercome this obstacle in your heart, so you want to blame me instead?”

“Liliane, you admitted in front of Felix that you removed Grandpa Thomas‘ oxygen mask,” Estherretorted, never expecting Liliane to try to argue her way out. She was furious as she continued.“There’s a recording as evidence. You can’t deny it.”

“My dear sister, use your brain. At that time, under those circumstances, you clearly threatened me withFelix’s life. What choice did I have but to comply with your demands?” Liliane scoffed as she stared atBradley, who had a grim expression on his face, and forced a saccharine grin.

“The esteemed head of the Warner Group, Mr. Bradley Warner, should have no trouble distinguishingtruth from lies, right? Besides, the judge and jury witnessed the scene where Esther removed theoxygen mask during the court proceedings. Have you forgotten?”

“Liliane Anstey!” Esther broke free from Bradley’s grip and confronted Liliane, her beautiful facecontorted with anger. “It was you who removed Grandpa Thomas‘ oxygen mask!”

“Evidence is everything.” Liliane knew better than anyone that neither Esther nor Bradley had anyevidence against her. Confidently, she stated, “If you claim that I removed the oxygen mask, thenpresent the evidence. I believe you should understand the law. Your voice recording cannot be used asevidence in court.‘

Esther was incensed. She raised her hand and delivered a hard slap to Liliane’s face. “Liliane, youractions do not go unnoticed by higher powers. Don’t think that nobody knows about the things you’vedone. One day, you will face the consequences!”

Liliane tilted her delicate neck and locked eyes with Bradley’s heartless face. She burst into laughter.“Bradley, I heard that Felix died after falling into the sea. Do you believe that’s karma for publiclybreaking off the engagement?”

Esther never expected Liliane to be so arrogant and shameless. A surge of intense hatred welled upwithin her like the tide of the sea.

“Liliane, Felix called you ‘Mommy‘ for several years…”

Liliane raised an eyebrow in annoyance and retorted, “So what? Are you implying that I should sacrificeeverything for him just because he called me ‘Mommy‘? Don’t be ridiculous! I wished for his death eversince I found out he’s your son!”

Esther was nearly driven to madness by Liliane’s words. She raised her hand once again to slapLiliane.

Liliane’s head snapped to the side. She wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth and mocked,“Esther, you know what’s truly unfortunate to me? The fact that he didn’t die by your hands! But it’s nodifferent for him to perish at Bradley’s hands. It’s only fitting for a son to pay for his father’s debt!”

Esther attempted to slap Liliane again, but Bradley swiftly grabbed her slender arm and coldlyremarked, “It’s not worth dirtying your hands for trash like her.”

“Hahaha!” Liliane laughed until tears streamed down her face. She elegantly wiped away the tears fromthe corners of her eyes and maliciously stared at them. “I’m trash? Then what does that make you? Apair who can’t even protect your own son? You’re nothing but scum!“
