Chapter 19

Esther grabbed the doctor’s hand and begged, “Doctor, I’m Tinkerbell’s mother. My bone marrow surelymatches. Please, please operate on my daughter right now.”novelbin

The doctor pried her hand away and hurried off without a word.

Jasper held Esther’s shoulders and told her sadly, “Esther, I’ll take you to the nurse now for a detailedtest. Let’s not keep the doctor from saving Tinkerbell.”

“Okay.”

Esther was brought to the nurse, and the latter immediately saw the scattered marks from having blooddrawn on her arm. She took a glance at how weak Esther looked and said seriously, “Ma’am, we canunderstand your feelings, but your current state can’t support you through this surgery at all.”

This was a public government hospital with dutiful and ethical doctors who would not turn a blind eye tothe patient’s condition.

“Please, I beg you to run the test on me first. Please!”

Jasper pleaded for Esther from the side as well. “Miss, the patient is her daughter. Please understand amother’s heart. Let her do the test first. If it’s a match, we can do the transplant when her body allowsit.”

The nurse took a look at Esther meaningfully. With Tinkerbell falling ill, Jasper had been occupiedattending to it, and now he was so close to Esther, so the nurse naturally assumed that they were amarried couple.

“I don’t know how you took care of your kid. How could you wait till she is this ill to send her to thehospital? You’re completely unqualified to be her parents.”

The nurse followed the procedure and took Esther’s blood to send it for lab tests.

After Esther had her blood taken, Jasper pushed her wheelchair outside of the operation ward.

As Jasper saw her dried lips and extremely weak state, he texted his men to send some easy-to-digest

food.

Tinkerbell was still being treated in the operation ward, while Esther’s test result was not out yet.

At the moment, each second was torture to Esther.

Jasper could not help feeling bad seeing her teary eyes and told her softly, “Esther, close your eyes fora short break. You’ve found Tinkerbell now. It won’t be long until you get to spend quality time together.”

A tear slid off the corner of Esther’s eye.

When the nurses wheeled Tinkerbell for emergency care, she immediately saw Tinkerbell’s adorableface she was so cute and obedient. She was such a wonderful child, but why… why she has to sufferfrom this?

‘I’m the one who has done wrong. I’m the one who loved the wrong person.

‘If I have to pay the price for that, why is it my daughter who is suffering?

‘Why is it my daughter who has to bear the outcome?’ Esther thought bitterly to herself.

Her heart ached so much that she could barely breathe. She thumped her chest and sobbedheartbrokenly.

‘Bradley Warner, how could you be so ruthless?

‘You can hate me and begrudge me. Why must you be so cruel to sneak my children away just as theywere born and lie to me that they were dead?

‘Felix isn’t your only child.

‘Pixie and Tinkerbell are your children, too.

‘They aren’t just my daughters. They’re your kids!

‘Why don’t you believe me?

‘Why don’t you?

‘Why!?’

Jasper patted Esther’s back gently with an anguished look.
