At Phillius‘ place, David widened his eyes in shock.
“Felix, you‘ve got to make sure this is true. Don‘t get your grandpa’s hopes up for nothing!”
Felix assured his father. “He can do it for sure! Tell grandpa not to worry!”
After David ended the call, he relayed Felix‘s message.
Naomi arched her brow. She was inwardly furious and she wanted to see who would dare make such abold promise.
David looked at her awkwardly after he spoke, as she had just claimed that only her mentor could treatthe old man, yet his son, a university student, was bringing home someone who could heal him rightaway.
Carl smiled. “Felix might have been conned out of his intent to be filial. I still believe Dr. Lynn‘sdiagnosis.”
Naomi commented nonchalantly, “I‘m not necessarily right. After all, there are so many people andgeniuses in the country. Who knows? There might be some prodigies hidden among them.”
“We‘ll know when he does his thing. You’ll have to do us a favor and be on the lookout, Dr. Lynn,”David replied. “My father‘s made enemies. Someone might be using my son to harm the old man.”
Naomi nodded. “I‘ll keep an eye out.”
The group waited for Kayson and Felix at home. The sun set, and it was close to 8 p.m. when the twoyoung men arrived at the Phillius‘ villa.
“Grandpa ! Dad, mom, I‘m home!” Felix yelled, rushing into the living room, where his family and Naomiwere sitting on the couch.
Carl chuckled with a fond expression. “I feel so much love. Our Felix has been traveling all over theplace the whole summer break and didn‘t even get much rest.”
“You‘re my grandpa . I‘d go up to heaven if I had to as long as you could be healed, grandpa,” Felixsaid seriously.novelbin
David asked, “Felix, where‘s the doctor you mentioned?”
“Kayson, come on in!” Felix looked at the door.
Naomi turned her gaze to the door as well with an aloof expression. She wanted to see who had daredboast so loftily.
When someone walked in holding a flower, Naomi was stunned upon seeing who it was. “Mr. Yarde?”
Kayson had already guessed that it was Naomi when he had heard the name “Dr. Lynn” in the carearlier, so he was not surprised to see her here. He nodded. “Dr. Lynn, we meet again.”
“Dr. Lynn, you know each other?” David asked in astonishment.
Naomi looked conflicted as she answered, “Yeah, we do... I‘m sorry. I forgot that there was someonebetter than me in Skyriv.”
David, who was shocked, asked excitedly, “You mean Mr. Yarde
here, Dr. Lynn?”
Naomi nodded, losing her cool when she saw that it was Kayson. Back when they had been analyzingwhat had poisoned Hendery, she had been completely defeated.
Carl got up and bowed slightly. “It‘s a delightful surprise to meet Mr. Yarde again here today! Nice tomeet you!”
“The pleasure‘s mine, Mr. Phillius Sr. Just call me Kayson.” Kayson bowed back.
David was astounded. “Dad, you know each other too?”
Carl nodded. “I tried to bid for the Lightning Wood when it appeared at the Roselle Lodge last month,but I failed.
“His contest with Howard involved so much money that I was nowhere near beating them.”
Felix, who did not care about that, quickly asked, “Kayson, can you check on my grandpa?”
“His condition is treatable, don‘t worry,” replied Kayson.
The Phillius family was ecstatic. Treatable? This was amazing news!
