Meanwhile, Violet was in a villa in the suburbs of Coast City.
Upon receiving a call from Gordon, she learned he had cancer and was about to die soon.

He was silent momentarily before calmly saying, “Violet, I’m calling you today just because of onething. Do you remember Rosie’s mother’s belongings? Please, give them back. I want to return theitems to Rosie.”
“Gordon, what are you talking about? I never took them!” Violet flared up.
Next to her, her son, Ethan, with dark circles under his eyes, kept yawning as he asked, “Mom, who’scalling?”
“Your father!” Violet answered in rage.
On the other end of the call, Gordon tried to negotiate humbly, “Violet, I’m dying. I hope you still have ashred of conscience. Return the items, and you can have nothing to do with me for the rest of your life!”
“Gordon, let me be clear with you. I didn’t take them! I didn’t take them! Back then, I did want to havethem. I almost dug up the house, but I couldn’t find them. Whether you believe it or not has nothing todo with me! Don’t ever call me again!”
Violet hung up the call after yelling at Gordon.
Ethan knew his mother was angry, but he did not care. Instead, he urged her, “Mom, make some foodquickly!”
Looking at her useless son, Violet felt angry and scolded,” Ethan, get a job! You’re gambling day andnight, almost turning yourself into trash! Don’t you care about your family at all?”
Ethan frowned and glared at his mother.
“Why do I have to care about them? I’m getting divorced. I’m looked down on because of Gordon! Ican’t even get a
proper job. What did I do to face all these?”
After Ethan snapped at his mother, he went to the kitchen and began to find something to eat.
Violet was left startled in the living room.
Fortunately, her daughter married a wealthy businessman, and they had a villa to live in. Otherwise,she would have been doomed if she had expected to rely on her husband or son, who were worthlessand useless.
Meanwhile, Gordon calmly analyzed things after Violet hung up on him.
Rosalie and Byron were waiting next to him.
Gordon told them Rosalie’s mother had left some things for her, and Violet might have stolen them.That was why Gordon called Violet.
“Gordon, maybe Violet has sold them.” Byron thought of the possibilities.
Rosalie had no feelings for anything in that house anymore. However, when she heard that her motherhad left some things for her, she wondered what they were.
Gordon shook his head and denied Byron’s guess.
His brows still furrowed. “That’s not likely. If Violet had taken them, she wouldn’t have said that she hadsearched the house in and out. She doesn’t have to lie to me now.”
“What did my mom leave behind? Are they worth a lot? Violet is so despicable that she even wanted totake my mom’s belongings!”
Rosalie looked angry as she spoke.
Byron comforted her, preventing her from getting anxious and agitated.
“Since Violet didn’t steal them, I think the relics left by your mom must still be in the house. We justhave to search, and maybe we can find them somewhere!”
Gordon nodded. “Rosie, I’ll look for them and give you a call if I find them!”
