Chapter 1766 Coveting A Slice

Andrius had some idea of the situation judging from his sister’s reaction.

‘What's that man’s purpose?

‘He's obviously against the Lawrence family. It was clear when he assisted that fugitive Wendy bysmuggling her abroad, but this time, he hired Old Master Loewe to cure Rosalie?’

Every action of his was contradictory and strange. He could not figure it out.

Andrea held back for a long time as she faced her brother’s imposing aura. Her face was resentful."What purpose can he have? You were always the golden boy of the Quirke family, trained to be thesuccessor since young. As for me, no one has ever given me a chance. In the eyes of others, am I justan arrogant and wilful young lady? Am I not worthy of having an ambition of my own?"

Andrea became more emotional as she spoke. "Brother, listen. I'm also your competitor from todayonward. Besides, I’m unlike you, who'll only take orders from the Lawrences in everything!"

Those words made all that Andrius had suppressed within him blow up.

"The Lawrences have never been bad to us. They're even quite generous to us. What's stupid is totreat the Lawrence family as an enemy. Moreover, Byron would definitely credit our family for invitingOld Master Loewe. I'd share any benefits with you."

After that, Andrius coldly left the house.

Behind him, Andrea's expression changed. Her eyes dimmed.

...

In Lawrence Manor, Byron was working on his laptop. Work had piled up after several days of absence.

Although Luther could handle most of the matters, there were still some agreements and contracts thatneeded to be personally reviewed and signed by him.

Rosalie noticed the man was deeply immersed in work. She brewed a cup of hot tea and brought itover without disturbing him.

There was a smile in her eyes. The man glanced up, and the corners of his mouth could not help butcurl upward too.

"The poison in your body hasn't completely dissipated. You should focus on resting and recovering.Don't worry about me. You can go to bed first," Byron took a sip of tea and whispered.

"Well then, don't work too hard! I'll go and see if the kids are asleep."novelbin

This quiet life made Rosalie feel particularly comfortable. Although she almost died from poisoning thistime, she gained something else.

She turned and went upstairs. The three kids were tired from playing and had fallen deeply asleep. Shedecided to take a nice, hot bath.

Not long after, a car arrived at the yard, and Andrius hurried into the living room.

‘It’s so late now, but Byron asked me to come over so suddenly. Could something have happened?’

"Buddy, what's the matter?" Andrius asked straight to the point.

Byron closed the laptop. "Don't worry, it's nothing serious. Sit down. I have something to talk to youabout."

Only then did Andrius sit down with ease. He looked up at Byron, who was brewing tea slowly.

Byron was skillful with the way he brewed the leaves. Then, he took a cup that was almost full andhanded it to Andrius.

"Have a sip of tea first," he said.

Andrius took a whiff of the tea. The aroma was refreshing and fragrant.

"Buddy, I have to say, your mood over the past few days has been the most irritable that I've ever seen. You've finally returned to normal now that you're like this." Andrius sighed sincerely while drinking tea.

Byron smiled deeply. He nodded in admission.

"Indeed! After all, she's the most important person in my life. The main reason I asked you to comeover tonight is to inquire about the status of the Lancer family's assets.

No matter how bad something was, there would always be value in it. Not to mention, the Lancer familyhad a long history of traditional medicine. Xander was talented in business, but his intentions werewrong, so he went astray.

The collapse of the Lancer family had a domino effect, with many people coveting a slice of thebenefits.
