Chapter 1706 Mommy Has Been Sick For Days
Byron looked to the side once more but met Lucian's gaze.
Their eyes met. As stoic as Byron was, he was stunned for a moment. "Are you still awake?"
He thought that the three little ones were all asleep.
Lucian's eyes were red, but he put on a sullen face, trying to look serious.
"Daddy, the truth is, Mommy has been sick for days, hasn't she?"
Byron's expression froze slightly, hesitating whether to tell the truth to the little boy.
Lucian was indeed the most mature of the three children.
The best way to confess to Lucian would be to explain the situation to him first.

Byron said without changing his expression, "That's because she was worried nobody would take careof you if she left for too long. Now that she has Daddy, she can rest assured."
When Lucian heard this, he had a thoughtful expression on his face.

Byron became speechless over the little boy's absolute trust.
Lucian did not mind. Instead, he became more serious. "Daddy, don’t worry. You just be with Mommy.I’ll take good care of my younger brother and sister! Daddy, you must make sure Mommy is alright!"
At the end of his little speech, the boy’s tone sounded like he was about to crack.
Byron raised his eyes and glanced at the rearview mirror. His heart ached when he saw teardropshanging from the corners of the little boy's eyes.
"I know. Daddy will make sure Mommy is alright. I’ll protect Mommy even if I have to pay with my life!”
Lucian reluctantly shook his head. "No! Both Daddy and Mommy must be fine! We want Mommy toreturn, and Daddy can't leave us either!"
Byron felt moved by his son’s words. He comforted the boy. "Yes, Daddy and Mommy will come backtogether. Don’t you worry."
The little boy wept as he nodded.
Byron sent them back to the manor. When the little ones woke up, they all felt sad.
Byron was worried. He decided to watch over them wash up and tuck them back in their beds. Hewaited for them to fall asleep before he got up to leave.
