Rosalie also felt the little ones were acting strangely, but she decided to ask them when Byron was notaround.
After dinner, Rosalie wanted to take the kids out, but Byron told her, “I wonder how things are going onAndrius’ side. Why don’t you give him a call?”

They both talked for some time on the phone.
Downstairs, the three kids realized something felt wrong and tried to escape. “Daddy, we want to playin the yard.”
As they spoke, they slowly crept to the yard.
Byron’s forehead puckered, and he followed behind them.
The three kids turned around and noticed that their daddy was behind them. Instantly, their mood sank.
“Alright. Tell me what happened this afternoon.”
Byron looked at them sternly.
Lucian and Nox played with their fingers with their heads down and did not seem eager to speak.
Estelle knew nothing about what had happened to her brothers. Since her daddy asked, she told herdaddy what happened briefly.
“Hmm... Grandma took us out. Then, she took me to the mall. Lucian and Nox came homethemselves.”
Byron’s face turned gloomier, and he looked at Lucian and Nox. “Is that all? Why didn’t Grandma takeyou two along with her?”
Lucian and Nox glanced at their little sister and muttered, “We didn’t want to go. So we came backourselves.”
Realizing the little boys’ gazes, Byron’s brows furrowed. He told Estelle, “Estie, why don’t you go infirst? I have something I want to talk to your brothers about.”
Estelle looked at her father and brothers before entering the house obediently.
Only Byron and the little boys were left in the yard.
“Can you tell Daddy now? I promise I’ll keep this between the three of us.”
Byron squatted and looked at the two kids before him patiently. His attitude was patient and calm. Thekids felt more wronged upon facing him, yet they were still worried.
Byron caressed the boys’ hair. “If you don’t tell me, Daddy and Mommy will be worried. Do you want tosee us worrying?” The boys no.velebook bit their lips and pondered. Byron’s gaze turned cold. He knew his mother would never treat the boys nicely. However, to know thetruth, he chose to swear to Lucian that he would not quarrel with Melody.
After hooking their pinkies, Nox blurted out what had been troubling him throughout the day.
“Grandma took us to the amusement park. She asked to play on our own, and we thought she wouldpick us up soon, but she did not come back even after we waited for quite some time. So, we cameback home ourselves.”
Then, the little boy continued softly. “Daddy, you promised us that you won’t be angry with Grandma.Lucian and I are fine now. Daddy, don’t worry.”
Lucian nodded and said, “We're happy as long as Estie is fine. Nox and I can take care of ourselves.We’ve gone to other places by taxi many times before this!”
