Chapter 845: Bearing The Consequences

Chapter 845: Bearing the Consequencesnovelbin

As expected, Sienna turned around and left without looking back, completely ignoring whatever her

secretary had to say.

With no other options, the secretary reluctantly dialed Mario's number and followed Sienna. Once

Mario answered, the secretary quickly summarized the situation and informed him that Sienna was

leaving.

Mario immediately responded, "Let her answer the call."

The secretary held out the phone towards Sienna, but she refused to take it.

Nervously, the secretary relayed the current situation to Mario. Mario simply said, "Put it on speaker."

The secretary immediately complied.

In the next moment, Mario's voice came through the phone.

His deep voice resonated, "Come back to the ward right now, Sienna. If I don't see you within half an

hour, I won't hesitate to do what we didn't do last night."

Sienna came to a sudden halt, snatched the phone from the secretary's hand, and her face was filled

with a cold and icy indifference. She coldly retorted, "Mario, what else can you do besides threatening

me? Threats seem to be the only means you have. Aren't you afraid that everyone will discover what

you are thinking about your adopted sister? It was you who shut me out from the beginning, you who

abandoned me, subjected me to ridicule from everyone, and caused the current situation. You're the

one who made me give up, and now you have the audacity to act like this? How shameless you are!"

Sienna's words made the secretary's face freeze. It seemed like she was the only person in the world

who could treat Mario like this.

The secretary kept his head down, trying to maintain an invisible presence. If Mario found out that he

had also heard those words, would he be silenced in some way?

Not only was the secretary incredulous, but Mario on the other end of the phone was also shocked. He

squinted his eyes, sitting on the edge of the hospital bed. The wound on his forehead had lost the

effect of the anesthesia, and his displeased emotions caused a throbbing pain.

His face turned extremely dark, as if it had been covered with a thick layer of broken ice. It took him

several seconds to regain his composure. His voice was hoarse as he said, "Consider me shameless.

If you really want everyone to know, let King Group make a public statement about our relationship.

Come back first, and then we can talk. Don't take my mother's words to heart, okay?"

Mario completely ignored what Sienna had just said. All he wanted now was for her to return to the

ward.

But of course, Sienna refused.

Sienna said, "I'm no longer a member of the Kings, so why should I go back? Besides, your injury is a

consequence of your own actions. I don't want to come back and attend to you, Mario. I'm truly fed up

with you. I have no desire to stay in the same room with you."

Mario responded, "So you're determined not to come back? Do you really think you can easily leave

Flento? Or do you believe Ayan and Camille can help you here in Flento? But have you ever

considered that even if Ayan is capable, he can't do whatever he wants here!"

Sienna chuckled lightly, her voice filled with coldness. "Why do you always think I have to rely on

someone else in your mind? Do you believe that without relying on you or the King family, I am

nothing? You're always so confident, thinking that even if you treat me like garbage and discard me, I

will still return to you without hesitation when you need me and don't even care about how you

abandoned me. Mario, why are you always so self-assured?"

Her words carried a mocking tone, causing Mario, who was listening on the other end of the phone, to

pause slightly. The expression on his face had already stiffened to the extreme.

Images of her face and past memories kept flashing in his mind.

Did he choose to abandon Sienna because he was overconfident?

His expression became dense and gloomy. However, at that time, he had made it clear to her that

everything was temporary. Once he firmly established himself as the CEO of King Group, the only one

who could stay by his side would forever be her only.

Why couldn't she just wait?

But Mario couldn't ask that question. He felt as though a stone was lodged in his throat, making it

difficult for him to breathe.

Sienna's voice echoed in his ears once again.

In a cold and detached tone, she said, "If you threaten and harm the people around me because of our

relationship, then go ahead. But I won't compromise anymore. Do whatever you want, I won't

compromise anymore."

Her determination was clear. Without waiting for Mario's response, she abruptly ended the call.

Sienna handed the phone back to the secretary, her voice as cold as ice. "Don't follow me anymore.

I've made it clear to Mario. You can go back to the hospital now."

Sienna turned and left, while the secretary remained rooted to the spot, without any response for quite

some time.

Sienna left the hospital and took a taxi back to her apartment. As she opened the door and entered,

she noticed bloodstains on the floor in the foyer. There was a faint scent of blood in the air.

She stared at the floor, and images from the previous night flashed in her mind.

Mario had wanted to take advantage of her in a moment of emotional turmoil. But when he approached

her and his warm breath brushed against her skin, her entire being reacted with intense emotions.

However, the strength of a woman was no match for that of a powerful man. She keenly felt her body

freeze and a sense of helplessness washed over her when Mario's cold lips touched her neck.

She didn't want something irreversible to happen. In that moment, all she could think about was Rex.

Because Rex would never force her or threaten her. Even though his intimacy with her was sometimes

dominating, it would never result in a situation like this where she would hate him but Mario still persist.

Compared to that, she would rather Mario kill her.

At that moment, she was grateful that she had reached out and touched the table lamp she had

randomly placed on the shoe cabinet. It was originally intended for her bedside table, but it stopped

working and she planned to have it repaired. It seemed like a stroke of luck from fate.

Even now, Sienna couldn't believe what she would do if such a thing really happened.

But the only thing she could foresee was that she and Rex would never have a chance again in this

lifetime.

She clenched her lips tightly and stood at the entrance for a while before finally taking a step forward.

She had said those things to Mario just now, and she didn't know what he would do next, nor did she

care to speculate.

She would face whatever came her way when the time came.

Right now, all she wanted was to take a shower and get a good sleep.

Before going to sleep, she sent a voice message to Camille, assuring her that everything was fine and

there was nothing to worry about.

Then she put her phone on silent mode and went to sleep.

After receiving the message, Camille felt slightly relieved. However, neither she nor Ayan had the mood

to go out and have fun, so they simply stayed in the hotel.

Ayan had been busy with work, and he was leaving for Dane City tomorrow. Taking advantage of the

available time, he decided to hold the weekly meeting of Simpson Group earlier.

The meeting lasted for over an hour, and after it ended, Ayan received a call from Kian.

On the phone, Kian said, "Mr. Simpson, everything is going smoothly. I can fly directly to Dane City

tonight."

Ayan responded with an "Hmm" and asked casually, "Have you set a time for the situation to reverse?"

"Yes, around 8 p. m. tonight. I'll leave for the airport after the situation has fully developed. So, you

don't need to worry," Kian replied in a low voice. He had just finished watching a video sent by his

subordinate, Austin. As the situation seemed temporarily under control and the crisis at Norman Group

appeared to be resolving, Austin was secretly taking action to shift all the blame onto Mr. Dávalos and

Mr. Moya. His focus was solely on this matter, and he had no spare thoughts to deeply contemplate the

current situation.

He told it in details to Ayan, who responded indifferently, "That's the consequence he should bear."

Camille overheard their conversation and curiously approached Ayan, asking, "Who are you talking

about?"
