Chapter 1473 - Errand

Chapter 1473 - Errand

At noon, the two of them went to have lunch at the Yinze Manor.

It was safer and more secluded here because it was a members-only establishment, so there wasno chance of anyone disturbing them.

They didn't opt for a private room, as it felt too large and empty, so the manager arranged a cozywindow-side table for them.

Before the food arrived, Ayan asked a couple of questions about the Armstrong family adoption.

She asked Camille, "When are you planning to make it public?"

"Tomorrow, the sooner, the better, to prevent any regrets from them." Once it's out in the open, everyone will know the purpose behind this, the uncles might think they can deceive her and Grace, but the online community sees through it, so it might lead to more criticism, this time aimed at theuncles.

But this time, it would be the two uncles facing the backlash.

Camille also had a plan in mind. When the uncles realized that their two sons had given up theArmstrong family without gaining anything, she would send Grace abroad first, and if Ayan didn'twant to see them, it would be equally easy.

If they were to make this public, it would surely stir up a small wave of attention.novelbin

Ayan suggested, "Once it's public, we should change his name as soon as possible and settleeverything at once."

She didn't want him to waste any more time on this matter.

Camille nodded lightly in agreement. She knew that Ayan would be prepared for any unexpectedsituations that might arise.

After lunch, Ayan had to return to the office, so Camille asked the driver to take her back to FranklinBay.

However, halfway there, she asked the driver to detour to the hospital without informing the oldSimpson beforehand. Her unexpected visit brought great joy to the old Simpson.

Seeing her, the old Simpson seemed much livelier and immediately waved for her to sit down,"Child, how long has it been since you last contacted me? No matter what happens, you shouldalways keep me informed. I may be old, but I can still help ease your worries."

Despite having no blood relation, the bond between Camille and the old Simpson surpassed that ofblood ties.

Camille smiled and replied, "Grandpa, I won't be coy with you. Just because I haven't said anythingcertain, doesn't mean everything's fine. Don't worry, put your heart at ease!"

The old Simpson peeled an apple for her. Although he was old, there was nothing he wouldn't do forCamille.

Camille didn't hesitate and accepted the apple, chatting with the old Simpson as she ate. Sherecalled the recent meeting between the old Simpson and Ayan and curiously asked, "Grandpa, was there something you discussed with Ayan that you didn't want me to know about?"

The old Simpson remained calm and unfazed, looking at Camille steadily before explaining, "Iinquired about the Armstrong family's situation and discussed the current state of the Armstrongfamily. No matter how the Armstrong family is, Armstrong Corp must lend a hand. Not only for your

parents but also for your grandfather's sake. Your grandfather and I have been old friends for manyyears. Sometimes, I think, even a century later, I might not have the courage to see him."

Looking at Camille, the old Simpson changed the subject, saying, "Seeing how well Ayan treatsyou, I can finally rest assured. If he ever mistreats you, just tell me, and I'll take care of him for you."

Camille, without a second thought, reassured the old Simpson, "Grandpa, don't worry, I'll take goodcare of myself. If Ayan ever mistreats me, I'll handle him myself. You can trust me."

Smiling, the old Simpson nodded in agreement.

Camille spent two to three hours with the old Simpson, chatting and watching TV together beforeleaving. Before her departure, the old Simpson's butler handed her a bag of organically grownvegetables. His hobby was cultivating various vegetables, ensuring Timmy had chemical-freeproduce delivered to the Simpson's mansion twice a week.

Carrying the bag of vegetables, Camille left the hospital. She decided to wait for Ayan to finish workand surprised him by not informing him in advance.

As they arrived at the Simpson Group building, Camille waited in the car, strategically positioned tosee Ayan leaving the company. Without directly parking in front of the entrance, the driver waited onthe opposite side of the street, offering a clear view of the people exiting the company.

To communicate her surprise plan to Ayan, Camille sent a message, "Are you done with work? Letme know when you're leaving the office, so I can order some food for you to bring back."

To make it more convincing, she even mentioned a specific food item from a nearby restaurant inHance City, as Franklin Bay was out of their delivery range, and she usually had errands run for her.

Ayan quickly replied, "I'll have Kian pick it up. You don't need to order. I have some matters toattend to, so I might come home late."

Camille hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to respond. She gazed out of the window, lost inthought. Suddenly, a familiar figure appeared before her eyes, catching her attention. Not just her, even the driver noticed it and asked, "Madam, Mr. Simpson is leaving the office. Shall we driveover?"

Camille hesitated, feeling a strange and unexplainable sensation. It wasn't a pleasant feeling, butrather a suffocating one, making it hard for her to breathe.

Silent and contemplative, Camille remained still, and the driver refrained from making any suddenmovements.

Meanwhile, Ayan walked confidently towards his vehicle with Kian, completely departing from theSimpson Group premises.

Upon seeing this, Camille instructed the driver to follow them but reminded him, "Don't let themnotice me. I don't want to disturb his work."

She was merely curious about what he was up to.

Camille messaged Ayan, "Do you have a business engagement? Are you skipping dinner tonight?"

Ayan promptly responded, "Yes, there's a collaboration to discuss, so I might be late. Don't wait forme for dinner. Let's take a stroll together tonight."

Realizing he could join her for an evening walk indicated that dinner time had passed.

Camille acknowledged his message with a simple "Okay" and didn't pursue further questions.

Following Ayan's car, they eventually arrived at a high-end restaurant, but Camille didn't instruct thedriver to pull in. From her vantage point, she could observe Ayan getting out of the car and heading

towards the restaurant. Initially alone, he was approached by a woman as he reached the entrance. They seemed to know each other, and he responded to her conversation.

Although nothing significant occurred, Camille couldn't shake off a feeling of discomfort, fueled bypossessiveness towards Ayan.

She watched the scene in silence, her eyes fixed on their interactions for several minutes beforefinally regaining her composure.
