Chapter 1337: Regrets

Chapter 1337: Regrets

Ayan's inquiry left Kian silent as well. Ayan spoke again, "So whether it's Elijah or Preston, all we need

to do is ignore them. Give them the opportunity and time to meet or interact privately, as long as we

have people secretly watching them. Time will present us with an opportunity."

As soon as the time is right, everything will fall into place. Ayan's goal is to make Preston believe that

he is being kept in the dark, even to the point where Preston thinks he knows everything and is the

most cunning and intelligent. This is Preston's vanity and his biggest flaw.

Only when Preston believes this, will he let his guard down and reveal his true intentions. Ayan has

waited too long, but Preston has never shown his true intentions. Moreover, there is always someone

to take the blame, which makes Ayan wonder how many people he can still manipulate.

After speaking with Kian, Camille happened to come down from upstairs. Ayan looked at Camille and

then casually said to Kian, "Go and arrange what I just mentioned. I want certainty that Preston won't

suspect anything, but also that we gather useful information. We can't afford to lose not only time but

also money."

Kian nodded lightly, and Ayan got up and walked towards Camille. Standing next to her, he gently

asked, "Did you sleep well?"

Camille nodded slightly and asked, "Have you had breakfast?"

"Not yet. I was waiting for you. Let's go, I'll join you for breakfast."

After saying this, Ayan took her hand, and Camille followed suit. As they were about to leave, Camille

turned to Kian who was still busy jotting down notes and asked, "Does Mr. Reid want to join us for

breakfast?"

Upon being addressed, Kian promptly replied, "Thank you for your kind offer, Madam. I've already

eaten. You and Mr. Simpson go ahead; I have some work to take care of."

Camille didn't insist, just softly said, "Thank you, Mr. Reid."

With that settled, the two of them walked to the dining room and sat facing each other. Camille picked

up the glass of milk next to her and took a sip. Her gaze fell on Ayan, and she casually asked, "Aren't

we supposed to pick up Daisy from the airport today? Why did Kian come so early? Are you going withnovelbin

him?"

Camille's eyes held a hint of inquiry, and Ayan met her gaze directly. He replied, "Of course not. He

came early because he had work to attend to. Besides, it's still early for the airport, isn't it?"

Upon hearing this, Camille pursed her lips lightly and murmured, "Okay."

Ayan noticed Camille's thoughts but continued, "Why the questioning? Do you think I would secretly go

to the airport to pick up someone irrelevant?"

Camille blinked and paused, even the fork she was using to eat stopped. She said, "I didn't think that

way."

She lacked certainty in her voice, and deep down, she didn't really believe he would hide something

from her. She was just thinking that Daisy represented the Tillery Group, and Ayan personally going to

pick her up seemed reasonable. She couldn't help but have such thoughts.

Camille was someone who would always ask if she had any thoughts because otherwise, those

thoughts would continue to linger and unsettle her. Ayan's intense gaze captured all this, and he

casually said, "Why ask that? Do you think I would sneak off to the airport to pick up someone

unimportant?"

Camille finally gave in and raised a hand, saying, "Alright, fine, I admit it. Is that enough?"

Feeling somewhat defeated, she thought to herself that this person's gaze was too sharp, like that of

an eagle grabbing onto its prey and not letting go. Ayan smiled and continued, "Although we have a

business relationship, Daisy isn't important enough for me to personally pick her up. Sending Kian in

my place already shows enough respect to the Tillery Group, and there shouldn't be any objections

logically or emotionally."

Camille nodded lightly, understanding, and then asked Ayan, "Is the dinner in the evening being

prepared by your side or should I handle it?"

"Kian has made the arrangements. We'll be dining at the Simpson Group's hotel."

"Not at Darkmoor?"

Darkmoor's cuisine was a specialty of Hance City. Simpson Group's hotel had good food, but Darkmoor

had a longer history in Hance City and was considered a signature restaurant.

Ayan explained, "We're not entertaining friends, so there's no need for a place like Darkmoor. Since

Daisy is representing the Tillery Group, it's only appropriate to dine at Simpson Group's hotel."

Camille nodded in understanding.

Their breakfast conversation ended with this exchange. Ayan had to go to the company, and Camille

had work as well, so they took a ride together.

Ayan dropped Camille off at her office first before heading to the Simpson Group.

Twenty minutes later, Daisy emerged, and Kian, along with the assistant, went forward to greet her,

conversing in English throughout.

Seeing Kian again, Daisy warmly greeted him. They left the airport together.

Not seeing Ayan, Daisy's visible disappointment was evident. She asked, slightly annoyed, "Where's

Ayan? Why didn't he come?"

Kian smiled and said, "I'm sorry, Miss Daisy. Mr. Simpson is caught up with work and couldn't make it to

the airport to receive you. Let me take you to the hotel first for some rest. Mr. Simpson will then treat

you to dinner tonight."

Even though Daisy's intentions were quite transparent, Kian, being Ayan's secretary, could discern

them. Not to mention Ayan, the CEO of Simpson Group.
