Chapter 587

If only Barlow were an ordinary man!

After they finished washing up, Karina’s phone rang. It was her mother, Denisse Glyn.

She hurriedly answered, saying, “Hey, Mom.”

“Karina, did you have a fight with your brother? Why didn’t you come home last night?” Denisseinquired.

Do You Like Barlow

Karina glanced at Rosalynn and fabricated a lie.

“No, I’ve just been busy with work. I didn’t want to disturb you and Dad by coming home late, so I’mstaying over at Rosalynn’s.”

“Well, your brother will be taking Annalise home for dinner tonight.

Make sure to come back early,” Denisse casually mentioned.

“I understand,” Karina responded, ending the call. She stared at her phone and let out a sigh.

Rosalynn approached and embraced her, offering comfort.

Karina managed a bitter smile. “Rosalynn, I’m not trying to ease my guilt. I’m just worried that mybrother will end up hurt again.”

Rosalynn’s positive opinion of Virgil had undeniably waned.

“No matter how sad he may be, he deserves it,” she declared.novelbin

It was his fault that he couldn’t see Annalise’s true colors.

“Rosalynn, please don’t say that,” Karina pleaded, feeling a sense of protectiveness for her brother.

Rosalynn gently guided Karina to the table and said, “Alright, I won’t say anything more. Let’s focus onhaving breakfast.”

Karina blinked, contemplating her next move. “I still need to find a way to make my brother realize whatkind of person Annalise truly is.“

Rosalynn handed Karina her breakfast and said, “Karina, you can never awaken someone whopretends to be asleep. Only he knows if such a person is truly right for him, don’t you think so?”

Virgil wasn’t foolish. Deep down, he must have known that Annalise didn’t have genuine feelings forhim.

Perhaps he was just pretending not to notice, hoping that Annalise would eventually choose to be withhim.

Karina remained wordless, lost in her own thoughts.
